This... this can't be Komi-san's grave, this... this makes no sense...
My knees are heavy... I...
Why? Why did it have to be like this? Why did you have to die after all we've been through? After everything we've built together, why must I wake up and find that you weren't there? Why?!
Yamai keeps laughing hysterically...
-"WHAT?!"
I ask... I didn't mean to yell...
"WHAT'S SO FUNNY?! DID YOU DO THIS?!"
She begins choking on her own breath, hitting her chest, trying to regain control over her speech.
I can feel tears flowing down my cheeks... I don't want to cry, I have to stop...
Yamai gets up from the ground and wipes the tears she shed while laughing, still gasping for air.
-"Don't you get it?!"
She still chuckles.
"Someone's getting fired over this! This has to be my favorite blooper of all time!"
-"... What?"
I say, gritting my teeth.
-"You seriously don't get it?! Think for a second!"
She rubs her index finger on the side of her head.
"We came here to find Komi's ancestors, and they were nowhere to be seen, so as Kometani said, I also thought she never existed!"
I began putting pieces together.
"If we went back in time and Komi's parents don't know each other, it was only logical!"
She walked towards Komi's gravestone.
"I even considered the possibility that her parents may have separated over her death..."
She kicked the headstone with force, keeping her leg on the top.
"BUT THEN THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HERE SOONER!"
She pressed the stone with her shoe, slightly pushing it back.
"Don't you think you should have made the inscription first?! YOU ABSOLUTE BUFFOON! ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD FALL FOR THIS!"
She put her leg down, stomping the ground.
"The empty gravestone is gone, and now there's this one out of nowhere, there was no funeral nor making of this one, it just appeared from one second to another tonight. So..."
She looked back at me as if she was waiting for me to finish her sentence.
-"It's fake..."
I faintly said.
She gave me a wide, manic smile.-"Whoever they are, they want us to think she's dead"
She looked at the stone again.
-"They thought they could make it look like she was always dead, they thought no one would remember her, they only wanted to make this headstone in case anyone remembered her, but they didn't think we'd come here before they finished it"
She looked at the sky.
"DO YOU HEAR ME?! YOU JUST MESSED UP!"
I began thinking... Yamai looks happier than ever.
"AND I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY, YOU JUST PROVED TO ME I'M NOT! YOU IDIOT!"
Thunder struck behind her as she yelled at the sky.
