Yibo POV

"Boss... I'm uh... quite scared," Sean said softly.

"You're scared of injections?" I asked him, cocking my head to peer into his eyes that shone with unhidden terror.

"I...," he said, looking down.

"You...?"

"I-I-I'm scared of injections!" he cried, pursing his lips tightly. He immediately cradled his flaming red cheeks in his hands, looking away shamefacedly.

"What's there to be ashamed about?" I asked him tenderly, looking into his eyes and slowly pushing him to the doctor's side steadily.

"Sean, why are you so afraid of needles?" I gestured for the doctor to do his job properly and quickly inject Sean before he noticed.

"Because... because I had a terribly weak body and immune system... the hospital near my house was pretty much my second home when I was younger."

"Mmm, I see...," I said, looking at the needle as it went into Sean's arm and observing that Sean didn't even blink his eye. I smiled a little.

"Like the type where you have to visit the hospital every few days to get a vaccine... it was pretty serious," Sean said.

"Oh... so this is why you...," I said, feeling satisfied that the needle was taken out quietly.

"Yeah... I...,"

"Done!" I exclaimed.

"Done? What do you mean?" Sean asked, confusion written all over his face.

"The injection is... over~"

"Wait... wait when did I even get injected?" he asked, looking at himself.

"Just now," I said.

"Just now?" he asked.

"Yeah, just now," I confirmed, smiling at his bewildered face. He looked really cute when he was confused.

"Oh... oh my god...," Sean muttered. "And I didn't even run away this time..."

"Doctor! Doctor! Doctor! Help! There's an emergency!" a voice screamed, obviously out of breath. The woman panted by the door, gulping down air. She was drenched in sweat and her hair was a catastrophe. Her makeup was smudged but she didn't seem to care.

"You?!" Sean asked.

I blinked at the two of them, wondering what connection this woman had with my Sean. Oh, wait, not mine. Minor correction. Just... Sean.

"Cousin?" Sean revealed.

Oh... so they are cousins. I couldn't explain why it was a relief to me though.

Sean's cousin glanced up at him. Recognition sparkled in her eyes a few moments after. She seemed pretty happy to see him. "Why are you back here, Sean? I thought you left Chongqing to find work elsewhere."

"That's not of any importance now." Sean brushed off. "Why were you calling for help just now? What's the emergency?"

"My mother just got a heart attack," she said, worry and fear lining her every word.

"Oh my god," Sean replied, eyes wide. "Is it very serious?"

"Where are the family members?" the doctor spoke up.

"Ah! I'm here!" Sean's cousin fretted. "Sean, dear, let's talk later, okay?"

"I...," Sean said. He looked at me, pained. "Can I go and see my aunt?"
