Rexy dragged her towards the boutique in excitement. Sasha reluctantly followed her.
"I'm so glad you decided to follow me shopping." She chanted.
Sasha rolled her eye.
"Technically, I didn't decide.. You dragged me." She said.
"Oh, come on, Sasha... You too need a dress for the dance." Rexy said as they entered the boutique.
"For the hundredth time, Rexy, I'm not going for the dance, we're just going for the project." Sasha said.
Rexy scoffed in doubt.
"That's what he wants you to think. I bet he'd be dressed too." She said as they reached the counter.
"Of course he'd be dressed." Sasha stated.
"I meant for the dance." Rexy said flicking her wrist.
"Stop exaggerating, Rexy." Sasha huffed
"Hello!" Rexy called and a lady appeared from behind the counter to greet her.
"Oh hi."
"We're here to purchase dresses for a dance tonight., where can we look." Rexy asked nicely.
"You're here." Sasha corrected "I don't have money for a new dress." Sasha told Rexy.
"Ehnn... You'll pay me later." Rexy said in dismissal.
"You wish!" Sasha replied.
"Check over there, the dresser is just behind those curtains.. We've got good choices." The lady behind the counter directed
"Thanks." Rexy said and dragged Sasha towards the direction.
Rexy was indecisive in her choices for an attire
Sasha sat on her seat, busying herself with a magazine, as she judged the dresses Rexy wore.
"How does this look on me?" Rexy asked Sasha that eyed her in inspection.
"Hmm... I think the fringes would disturb him while dancing." She said.
Rexy furrowed her brows.
"Really?" She turned to the mirror to inspect herself. "Didn't think of that." She replied and disappeared into the dresser.
She appeared a while later.
"What about this one? The blue shashes are lovely." She said.
"I hate shashes! So, I hate this dress." Sasha said and Rexy pouted going back into the dresser.
She came out again soon
"Nah... Too pink."
"Nope... Too yellow!"
"Come on, you look like a cute little bunny"
"Go, take that off, Rexy."
"Uhm... Isn't that too exposing?"
"That's way too long, girl!"
"Hey! What's with the hat? Didn't they teach you about dressing for the occasion?"
"Psst!... Are you the new Cinderella??"
"Does this look good to you?"
Rexy came out the fifteenth time looking tired.
"How bout this?"
Sasha looked up from her phone.
"Em mm... I really don't like pink. But, this is the perfect fitting for you." Sasha admitted.
Rexy groaned in exhaustation. "Finally!" She said gladly.
Sasha smiled.
"Yes, finally, now let's go!" She said standing up.
"Not so fast. Its your turn." Rexy said dragging her into the dresser upon her protests.
Sasha changed till she was tired and exhausted and frustrated.
Her taste was very different from Rexy's.
"Perfect!" Rexy announced at last as both girls studied her in the dressing mirror.
It was a pitch flowery flay dress, with pink lining out the hem of the dress. It was sleeveless and a bit exposing. It was short and it fitted her perfectly but as she stared at herself in the mirror, her nose scrunched up in disgust.
"I don't like this dress! Its too.. Pretty." She said for lack of words.
Rexy rose a brow her like she was stupid
"It should be pretty." She remarked.
"I said it before, this dressing is unnecessary I'm not going for the dance but for my project." Sasha argued.
"A lady should should look pretty for any occasion at all. And besides,.. You're going to meet a guy." Rexy said teasingly putting a stress on 'guy'.
Sasha rolled her eyes
"See, I don't want to be overdressed, I don't want him getting any ideas." She said sighing.
"Come on, Sasha... This dress is simple and don't act like you don't want to look pretty for him." Rexy said with a knowing smile.
Sasha hid a smile.
"I'm not you, Rexy." She replied
Rexy shrugged. "Whatever you say. You're putting on this dress tonight.. Now hurry up, we need to go to the spar" Rexy concluded.
"The spa? You've gotta be kidding me." Sasha said incredulously.
Rexy looked at her.
"Seriously?? Freddie has been my crush since 6th grade, and now, He's asking me out to the dance, and you're saying I shouldn't look pretty.?" She said rhetorically.
"Rexy, you look pretty all the time." Sasha told her.
Rexy smiled.
"I know, right." She said boastfully "But still, my hair needs a redo... And you too, your straight hair needs some curls to it and even a spray." Rexy said taking up some of Sasha's hair.
"Hey! Don't drag me into this! I'm definitely fine with my hair and myself." She said in defense.
"Girl, you really don't have much of a choice in this matter." Rexy said holding up the clothes they'd chosen.
"I've said this before, I wouldn't want Wayne getting any ideas! I told him I wasn't coming for the dance." Sasha said following her to the counter.
"I'm pretty sure he'd understand." Rexy said handing the clothes to the shopkeeper. "Its just some cools and petting to your body, curls and colors to your hair." Rexy assured.
"Why would I even want to dye my hair?" Sasha said in disgust.
Rexy laughed looking at the Lady like she was talking to her and pointing her thumb at Sasha.
"Can you believe this girl?" She said
The lady gave her a strange look since she had no idea what she was talking about.
Rexy turned her attention back to Sasha.
"You'll love it. It'd be just a shade of pink in your hair. Just in a side." She said.
"Pink." Sasha repeated.
"Yes pink." Rexy replied collecting the shopping bag from the lady and paying.
The two girls left the shop and made their way to the nearest spa.
Soon, they were through.
Sasha saw her self in the mirror and was sure she didn't look Sasha. She looked Rexy. With a tint of pink on her hair that curled towards her waist.
She had to admit, she did look very pretty and attractive but the whole preparation was definitely for the wrongest occasion.
"Thanks a lot, Rexy... But I still think all this is not necessary." She said to Rexy, who equally looked charming, with her hair all red. All red! Sasha couldn't come to think of how her friend put up with her beauty jars.
"You've got to do this more often. You look really attractive. Wayne won't be able to resist." Rexy said teasingly.
Sasha snapped her head around to look at her as a blush spread across her cheek.
"What's your plan, Rexy? Spill it." She said in accusation.
Rexy shrugged
"I just want my friend to be pretty and have a boyfriend..." She confessed.
"You want to set me up with Wayne?" Sasha cut in.
"Hey, who said anything about set ups? You were the one who told me you were beginning to like him...".
"I didn't say so!" Sasha yelled
Rexy rose a brow at her.
"Ok.. Fine, I might have said it but... No! I did not say it! I just asked you who you think would be better for me between Will, Max, and him. And you began to say I was crushing on him."
"But you are. Why else would he be among your options of boyfriends when he doesn't even show any special attraction towards you." Rexy argued.
Sasha was sure she felt a bit hurt by that
"I was just saying, ok.? And you..." The beeping of her phone interrupted her and she took the call, throwing a lazy 'excuse me' at Rexy.
"Hello?" She said into the phone
"Its Julie. We need you in GGG right now... Meet you at the park in 5 minutes." She said.
"What? Why,... Hello?" She had hung up.
Rexy looked at her in concern.
"What's wrong!?" She asked.
"I've got to go." Sasha said taking her shopping bag and standing up.
"Where?" Rexy asked standing too.
"Umm.. I have to go to the hospital.. My dad..." She lied.
Rexy gasped.
"I'm coming with you." She said.
"No!" She said louder than supposed. "I mean... No. You still have pedicure and manicure to be done on you. I'm pretty sure its no big deal " Sasha said, putting her back on her seat.
Rexy sat down reluctantly.
"Ok, em.. Tell him I said hi." She said.
Sasha nodded at her.
"Thanks for everything, the dress, the jewelries, the shoe and the spa." She said running off.
