"How do I look?" Wayne asked Jasper turning to look at him.
Jasper looked at him with the corner of his eye.
"As you always look." Jasper said rolling his eyes.
"Is that supposed to be a good thing?" Wayne asked raising a brow.
"Don't ask me! I offered to help you out with your choice of clothing and hairstyle but you turned me down! So, go ahead and embarrass yourself on your project-like date!" Jasper said tearing his gaze away from him and fixing it on the Tv.
"Well, if you're not gonna help me, get out of my room." Wayne said.
"No, thank you.!" Jasper replied.
Wayne sighed and stood hands akimbo looking at Jasper.
"Fine! What do you suggest I wore?" He asked.
Jasper looked interested.
"Now, you decided to hear me out." He said looking at the side clock. It was half an hour before 8pm when the dance was supposed to begin. He stood up from the bed and went over to Wayne's wardrobe, fetching out the suit he had been eyeing.
"A suit?" Wayne asked incredulously.
"A suit." Jasper replied
"Why the fuck would I want to wear that tonight?" He said in disgust.
Jasper looked at him.
"Do you need my help or not?" He stated.
"If that's what you want me to wear, I definitely don't!" Wayne answered.
Jasper shrugged.
"Then, enjoy watching the scene of Will winning the girl.!" Jasper said dropping the suit back in the wardrope.
Wayne spread his hands in horror.
"I'm going for my project.! In a lab!" Wayne reminded
"A date. In a lab and shiny chemicals and mixture of gases. That's so romantic Wayne." Jasper stated dreamily.
Wayne groaned.
"Its not a date!" Wayne said firmly.
"Take off the rubbish you're putting on! I would be a real bad love mentor if I should let you see her without you looking gentlemanly." Jasper said tugging at Wayne's jacket.
Wayne pushed him off.
"Hey! You're not my 'love' mentor. There is no such thing as that! And I don't want to over dress! I don't want her getting any ideas!" He said
"I bet she'll dress up too and style her hair..." Jasper said.
"That's expected! She's a girl." Wayne replied.
"I'm a guy! And I'm concerned about my looks... You know why? It's the first thing the ladies sees." He said stylishly gesturing at his handsome face.
"Suit yourself." Wayne said adjusting his jacket and going over to his study table to put some necessary stuff in his bag.
"So, you're not putting on this suit?" Jasper asked to be sure.
"No!" Wayne replied strictly not looking at him.
"Fine! She'll fall for Will!" Jasper yelled at him. His eyes widened as he saw a book flying with speed towards his head. He dogded just in time to avoid being hit in the head by the book.
He glared at Wayne. "Hey!" He yelled
Wayne didn't look back at him but was a bit hurt by what he said.
There was a knock on the door and Catlin came in with some cupcakes in a tray.
"Hey, boys... I made the cupcakes, they're so delicious." She annouced dropping the tray on the table.
Jasper rushed to it.
"Wow.. Thanks mum, you're the best!" He said biting of one cupcake. "Hmm." He exclaimed
"Wayne... Aren't you ready yet? Don't want you to be late." She said observing Wayne.
"I'm ready, mum." He said hanging his bag on his shoulder and turning to her.
Her nose scrunched up in disapproval.
"Like this?" Catlin asked.
Jasper shook his head. "I thought the same thing mum."
"What's wrong with it?" He said in disgust.
Catlin stood hands akimbo.
"It's too casual for the occasion." She replied going to his wardrobe.
"The occasion is my project! Not the dance!" Wayne stated in annoyance.
"You're meeting a girl, Wayne!" She told him.
"Mum!" He yelled and rubbed his face to get rid of the heat that was up in his cheeks
Catlin ignored him and brought out the same suit Jasper brought out.
"Ha! I'm my mother's son!" Jasper said proudly going to stand beside Catlin who gave him an amused smiled.
Wayne slapped his head in disappointment.
"I can't wear this! What will she think? I dressed up for her?" He said angrily.
Catlin rose his brows at him.
"Listen, young man... Its not only about what 'she' would think, its about you being a gentleman." She said sternly.
"Arrgh! I hate this! Its stupid!" He said frowning.
"No time for your whining, Wayne Heather! Put on that suit and let's get out of her." Catlin ordered.
"No!" Wayne snapped. "There's no way I'm putting that on for my project!" He said in dismissal.
Catlin studied him.
"Is that so?" She said threatenly.
"Yes!" Wayne replied.
Few minutes later...
Wayne stood in front of his mum, with his face angry and his hair well styled.
He looked really cute and responsible in the black suit he was putting on.
Catlin looked at him with a proud smile on her face. She arranged his collar and he didn't protest.
"You look irresistible, Wayne." She commented.
"She won't be able to resist! Will would be so jealous." Jasper added.
"Shut up, Jasper!" Wayne hissed.
"Come on, don't be grumpy now... Give me a smile." Catlin said dusting invincible dust off his shoulders.
Wayne kept a straight face and she put her thumbs to the side of his lips and spread his lips in attempt of a smile.
Wayne shook his head away. "Let's go already, you guys won alright!" He said leaving the room angrily.
Catlin exchanged glances with Jasper and they both shrugged.
Wayne stumped over to the car and leaned on it, waiting for them to come out.
Now, he was sure Sasha was going to suspect something. This was stupid! So stupid!
Ugh! He just wanted to disappear! This whole night was going to be embarrassing. Sasha was going to mock him, or think stuff he didn't want her to think.
He raked his fingers into his hair in frustration.
"Hey, don't do that! You'll mess it up!" Jasper said walking towards the car with Catlin behind him.
Wayne glared at him and looked away.
"Don't worry, Jasper... He'll thank us later." Catlin said getting into the car.
The two boys went into the car too and Catlin drove off.
