Chapter 32: Risk

"Jimin!" Seokjin yelled the second he saw his friend who had just woken up and was getting used to his surroundings. Running up to Jimin, he gently gave him a hug and cried into his shoulder.

"I was so word about you! I was scared you and Jungkook weren't going to make it!" Seokjin cried as Jimin gently patted his back before speaking.

"Jungkook?! Is he okay?! What about the babies?!" Jimin separated from Seokjin and looked at him with fear and worry.

"Well the good news is that they're alive." Seokjin responded, making the other skeptical.

"If there's good news, what's the bad news?" Jimin asked with a raised eyebrow. Seokjin looked at Jimin before looking at Namjoon for help. Namjoon sighed before answering the question.

"Yes, Jungkook and the babies made it through the surgery, but the chances of miscarriage are very high." Namjoon looked at Jimin who now had a straight face.

"How high?" Jimin asked, Namjoon and Seokjin looking at each other skeptically.

"How high are they?!" Jimin asked a little more sternly, making the two look at him.

"The bullet just barely missed the uterus where the babies are by an inch. The doctor said he was surprised that he hadn't miscarried already, but now that he made it through the surgery, it's a 50-50 chance. They want to keep him here for a month and even when he's released, he is to be on strict bed rest." Namjoon said, giving it to Jimin straight.

     Jimin looked at the floor, wondering what he did wrong in his past life to deal with this. He wanted to break down, but decided to stay strong and look at the bright side. Jungkook and the babies could be dead right now, but they're not. The chances of miscarriage could be 99% but instead, it's 50-50.

"Okay." Jimin replied, thinking about the events that had played out earlier that day.

"Are you good?" Seokjin asked, worried about how his friend is mentally dealing with the information just given to him. Jimin was silent for a minute making the others worried until he spoke up.

"I'm holding up the best I can. Right now all I can think about is doing everything I can to destroy that man that dared hurt Jungkook and his kids." Jimin replied with fury filling him up.

"You're injured too, so you have to get better yourself in order to do that." Seokjin stated, making Jimin look at him.

"I will, and when I'm healed. I'll be out for blood." Jimin said with a look on his face that showed how serious he was.

"You mean in the court of law type of way, right?" Namjoon asked, making Jimin look at him like he was a joke.

"Of course! What type of person do you think I am?!" Jimin asked, giving him a look that said you can't be serious right now.

"Well you did say you were out for blood." Namjoon replied sheepishly as he scratched his head.

"Yeah, in the courtroom. Did you forget that I'm a prosecutor?!" Jimin asked, baffled by his friend's thoughts.

"Wait. Doesn't that mean you can't do this case since you're technically one of the victims in the case?" Seokjin asked, making Jimin feel pissed off.

"Damn it! Why did you have to say something?! I can't do anything about it but testify! I hope Lilliana is the one in charge of our case." Jimin pouted.

"Why?" Namjoon asked, genuinely curious for Jimin's pick.

"Because she's a damn good prosecutor. She is basically the girl version of me in the courtroom. I want someone to go hard on this asshole and put him in prison for life and she is someone who will do that." Jimin huffed as he folded his arms.

"Well that's one way to answer it." Seokjin replied before seeing the frown on Namjoon's face. Jimin noticed it as well.

"What's wrong Namjoon?" Jimin asked, catching Namjoon's attention. Namjoon just stared at him for a couple of minutes before speaking up.

"Jimin, do you know who shot you and Jungkook?" Namjoon asked, making Jimin tense. Jimin looked between the two men, not knowing what to say. He knows that the answer will piss them off.

"Jimin?" Seokjin said, looking at him for an answer. Jimin gave in a couple of seconds later and told them.

"The one who shot me and Jungkook was Lee Eun."

     At that moment, a police officer walked into the room as the two men's faces filled with horror because of the answer Jimin gave them.
