Y/n: POV
We arrived at the town of beginnings to immediately use the town obelisk to teleport to a smaller town to turn in our quest and sell anything we couldn't use. The quest rewards lost a bit of luster after our scuffle in the secret room. As we walked towards the market, I saw a familiar face.
Y/n: "Hey, Kirito! where'd you run off to earlier?"
he turned to see us in different states of damage.
Kirito: "Geez, what happened to you three?"
Koharu: "We found a secret room."
Kirito thought for a second, then pointed to me with a smirk.
Kirito: "Ad Profundis."
y/n: "Oh, fuck off."He shook his head with closed eyes.
Kirito: "Yeah, rusted knights are rough. You were doing the Into the den quest, right? You can get a good skill from there, but the knight has to drop the key."
Asuna: "Or you have to know how to pick locks."
Kirito: "I mean yeah, but it isn't as simple as Ancient Texts or Mushroom Cloud, you-"
Y/n: I can pick locks, that's how I got the skill."
He looked at me in shock, then began to laugh.
Kirito: "Seems like you're good to have around."
Y/n: "Speaking of which, we were just about to trade some mats to a friend for money then get some food. I'll buy if you want to come with."
Koharu: "I can cook us something."
All: "Yes please."
Koharu: "That sick of bread, huh?"
After our conversation, we made our way over to a small stand with a brown-haired girl behind it.
Y/n: "Hey there... Lizbeth right?"
Lizbeth: "Hey, you remembered my name! got anything good for me?"
we opened up a group trade to exchange some items for money. She then gasped in amazement.
Lizbeth: "You got mist feathers?!?! those are super useful!"
Koharu: "What do they do?"
She grabbed my left arm and shook it back and forth rapidly.
Lizbeth: "It's what makes this do mist step! I know a client who wants one attached to their blade so you really are helping me out with this."
Y/n: "...Can I have my arm back?"
She let go, apologized, and continued business. After we were all squared away, we headed to the nearest tavern. Koharu paid to use their utensils and began to 'cut' the different ingredients. by the time she had put it into the pot, she had gathered a small crowd of players. she glanced back, sighed, and turned to face them.
Koharu: "If you want a bowl, it's the same price as two rations. My party gets first dibs as well."
They then formed a line behind us as she put the pot on the stove. After a while, a ding brought us all standing at attention. The four of us filled our bowls with the stew and sat down. We patiently waited for Koharu to sell her food to the other players, making back the money spent on the utensils and then some.
Y/n: "I like how food doesn't get cold here."
Kirito: "Yeah, I like some of the small things like that too."
