MANGA SPOILER ALERT!
Could I love you anymore?
Could I love you anymore?
Could I love you anymore?
It's really a wonder that they had defeated Muzan Kibutsuji, especially since it came at the cost of so many they had loved and cherished.
So now... as he sat there, looking at her in the eyes, sliding that ring onto her finger, she wondered:
How long had he been planning this?
"Mitsuri-chan, I love you. Ever since the day I met you. I accept this vow of forevermore."
Tears welled up in her eyes and she embraced him, sharing a kiss with him tenderly. Obanai's eyes widened as he smiled silently to himself.
She stared at her finger, the sound of a quiet liquid dripping from her abdomen currently being ignored. Wrapped in his striped haori, Mitsuri pulled it closer to her chest, hiding the Demon Slayer uniform that they had worn with pride.
Obanai's eyes fluttered closed, yet his pupils were still staring at her. Mitsuri smiled.
Sunrise, time flies, feels like a dream
Being close, inhaling, hard to believe
Seven billion people in the world.
Finding you is like a miracle.
Only this question remains:
Could I love you anymore?
She could feel her life slowly slipping, yet some sort of it held on, feeling her lover's hand grasp her's weakly.
"Obanai, do you remember the first time we met?" she asked softly, not expending too much energy.
"Y-Yes." he murmured, yet his eyes had not closed.
Good.
He was still alive. He could hear her profess her love.
"You saved me that day. I was lost and-"
"If anything, Kanroji, you saved me that day. Your bottomless cheerfulness and kindness made me feel like a normal boy. I'm sure the others felt the same way. So don't feel guilty, Watashi no ai, you saved many more lives than I'm sure you thought possible." he whispered comfortingly, his eyes shutting for the final time.
Mitsuri smiled to herself, hearing the pitter-patter of the Kakushi's footsteps.
"Mitsuri-san!" a Kakushi cried urgently, knocking herself to her feet and wrapping her wounds carefully.
"We're too far gone, my dear Kakushi." Mitsuri whispered, as ten more approached. There was a commotion ahead, something about Tanjiro.
The Kakushi sobbed as the Love Hashira and Serpent Hashira laid there, entwined with each other, the only remnant of their love being the band on her finger.
Mitsuri smiled one last time, fading away as the Kakushi begged for her to come back.
"I love you, Obanai."
"And I as well."
Her eyes snapped back to the boy, who gripped her hand one last time as the Kakushi finally reached them.
