"Tomioka-san!" Shinobu shrieked, as her boyfriend placed a kiss on her forehead. They were in an open office, and she was making coffee for their weekly meeting. No one else knew about them, so it was a wonder she got through with this anyway.
It was as expected anyways. No one else worked weekly with the boss, or so Tengen claimed. Shinobu huffed.
"I'm busy." she excused herself, moving to pour the coffee into mugs. Staying silent, he merely followed her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She shivered at the touch of his cold hands.
"Tomioka-san! I have the papers-" Mitsuri burst into the office, finding Tomioka with his arms wrapped around Shinobu like a lovesick puppy.
...
"Dating?!" was the word that was circling through the 5-level office building on the main street. Mitsuri shrieked, as Obanai tried to keep her settled.
She hadn't expected her coworkers to be so supportive of her dating the boss.
Tomioka stood next to her, his fingers entwined in hers, smiling softly.
"You smiled!" Mitsuri grinned, bouncing up and down in her chair.
"I can't believe this." Gyomei whispered. He was fiddling with his prayer beads. Sanemi and Muichiro were aimlessly looking around the room, although for two different reasons.
Softly taking her aside, Sanemi huffed.
"Would Kanae approve of this?" he hissed. Shinobu shook her head.
"I'm sure you know that more than anyone, Sanemi. So please, help me support this." she begged.
Sanemi grumbled. He couldn't really deny anything when the Kochou sisters used those eyes on him.
This was unfair.
"Tomioka-san," Shinobu announced her arrival once more, to find the other coworkers surrounding the embarrassed boss, who was clearly trying to hide his face.
He had said something wrong.
"He said that- he fell in love with you at first sight?" Mitsuri shrieked, grabbing SHinobu's shoulders and shaking them wildly.
"He what?!" Shinobu looked at Giyu, but he avoided her gaze.
He really had... she thought.
"That's new." Muichiro muttered.
"This is wonderful!" Rengoku threw his arms around the two, making them shudder. Rengoku was oddly happy about this.
"Wait... you guys wanted us to get together?!" Shinobu asked, looking Mitsuri in the eye.
"Well..." Mitsuri traced a circle on the ground with her foot. Obanai smirked.
"I'm sure we all did."
"What?!" Shinobu cried out, hiding her face in her palms.
"Kochou. calm down. It's alright." Giyu said gently, uttering the first words that she ever thought she heard in this conversation.
She looked at him skeptically.
"You said you fell in love at first sight!"
Giyu hesitated.
"T-That doesn't count."
"This is why no one likes you." I tease, touching his nose gently.
"But you love me." he said back.
She had forgotten the others were there.
"Aww!" Mitsuri squealed.
"Shush." Shinobu demanded, burying her face in Giyu's coat. Pulling her closer, Giyu smiled smugly.
He had snagged the butterfly.
...
"Don't look so smug, Tomioka!" Shinobu shouted, throwing one of the pillows at him in frustration.
He laughed.
"I got you. How could I not?"
Shinobu smiled, planting a chaste kiss on his lips.
"I have to go." she excused herself, pulling her purse on.
"Wait. Let's go for dinner."
"Tomioka..."
But she couldn't resist those eyes.
"Fine..."
She linked his arm with his, and they walked out the door.
"We going for salmon daikon?" she asked.
"Of course."
