Context: Based off of the trailers, specifically the Mimic Book 2 trailer and the Teaser, Nure-Onna appears to be on an island. Nure-Onna, according to the internet, tends to reside on Kyūshū island, which is known for its subtropical vegetation and heavy rainfall. Based on the teaser, there seems to be heavy rain, and in both the teaser and trailer, the island appears to be very vegetated. I theorize the island is based off of Kyūshū island, and this will be relevant to my headcanon.

Disclaimer: I am aware that we never got to see Nure-Onna's face, which opens speculation in which Nure-Onna could be another form of Enzukai. This Headcanon is all speculation and for fun.

Somewhere, deep in the forest of a vegetated island, was a young woman. The woman was named Chinami, and she had a beautiful little baby boy. Chinami lived remotely, and occasionally had to traverse long distances, especially over mountains to get supplies every once in a while. However, Chinami often relied on the island around her for food and water. She was very intelligent, and knew every nook and cranny of the island she lived on. She knew where to get the freshest fruits and freshwater, and she knew the shortcuts and many secrets of the mountains. She loved the home in which she built for her son, and she loved the island on which the lived on.

She was known as the **"ガイド"** to locals. Chinami would help people on the island if they needed to go somewhere, or find food or water in the toughest of seasons. Chinami would also tell local villagers of any danger or when the darkest of storms would fall upon the island. Chinami would often save villages from hunger and danger, and because of that, she became a well respected person to the locals.

While Chinami was able to see upcoming dangers of nature, there was no way she could sense the danger that would fall upon her and her island.
One day, as Chinami was taking care of her son, she heard a knock at the door. Curious as to who it was, she answered, and was surprised to find two men standing there. Chinami would call this normal, but the way they dressed confused her. They were definitely not local, which Chinami would meet every once in a while, but something about them seemed... off.

But regardless, Chinami greeted them, and asked what they needed.

*"Hello ma'am, we are two travelers that have run out of food. We are starving, and we're wondering if you have any food to spare?"*

Chinami felt sympathy for the men, however her food supply was also short. She had planned to go and grab food today, so she figured that she would take them to one of the fruit trees that she often guided people to if they ever needed food.

*"My apologies, good sirs, but my food supply is rather low. However I know of a place where there's food for you. You can take the food that you need for your journey, just follow me."*

Chinami grabbed her basket and her son, slipping him in a little holder that she carried on her chest. She then led the men over a river and through a cave, until they eventually came upon a small clearing, where a fruit tree stood high, filled with ripe fruit. The men were filled with wonder as Chinami started to pick the fruit for herself and her son. As Chinami was picking fruit, she missed the look that the two men shared. They started to pick the fruit as well, however they were both deliberately being slow, but Chinami didn't notice.

Eventually, Chinami finished picking enough fruits to last her for a week. She noticed that the two men were still picking fruit. She felt somewhat off about the men, and she was gonna stay back and watch them, however, her little boy started crying. He was hungry, and Chinami needed to get home. She was reluctant, but she told the men to not pick every fruit, as the locals would probably need it too.
The men smiled. *"Don't worry, we won't take them all, thank you for helping us! We'll someday repay you."*
