"i want you to meet my parents." austin mumbled into athena's bare shoulder as they laid together, both coming down from their orgasm highs.

"what?" athena questioned, unsure if she had heard him correctly.

"my parents. i'd like to take you to meet them. and my sister." he repeated, shifting so that they were facing each other.

athena bit her lip.

"i've never done the whole meet the parents thing before... never been in a serious enough relationship." she admitted.

"well this is pretty serious, don't you think?" he paused. "i know i'm in lo-"

athena froze as austin stopped speaking, his eyes widening.

"say it." she mumbled.

"i know that i'm in love with you." he said, softly. she lent in, placing a gentle kiss to his jaw.

"i'm in love with you too." she replied. he grinned slightly.

"i figured, after you almost said it on the phone the other week." he teased. athena rolled her eyes playfully.

"i hoped you'd miss that." she said. he shook his head.

"i was so close to saying it back, but i didn't want our first time to be on the phone. i wanted it to be in person so i could say that i am completely and utterly in love with you athena... i don't know your middle name... everey, more than i'll ever be able to say."

"i love you." she replied. "i'm so in love with you it terrifies me."

"me too. but it's a good terrified." he grinned.

"a great terrified." she agreed. "and its cate. my middle name. after my grandmother." 

he laughed slightly. 

"good to know." 

"i'll meet your parents, by the way." she said, after a moment's pause. 

austin's eyes widened.

"wait really? you don't think you have to just cause we said i love you, right?" he checked.

"it's about time." she shrugged. "your mum has followed me on instagram since the first day we met."

austin laughed.

"i know, she talks about your posts and stories all the time. plus she went to target the day your album came out to buy a copy." he said. athena's eyes widened.

"oh wow, really?" she grinned.

"yep, and then played it in the car on the way home. loren texted me about it." he smiled. athena's face fell.

"oh my god and i wrote a song about masturbation." athena groaned. "i did not think this through."

austin laughed.

"i'm sure she didn't realise." he said.

"how could she not, it's so fucking obvious." athena sighed. "next time i decide to-"

she was interrupted by the loud ringing of austin's phone from his bedside table and he shot her an apologetic look before reaching out to grab it.

"speaking of my mum." he said, before answering quickly.

athena zoned out, her attention firmly on the feeling of austin's arms around her naked body, and the way his stomach tensed up when she traced a finger over his abs.

"give me a second mum." austin spoke, pulling the phone away from his ear and muting himself. "athena."
