austin looked up from his spot on the end of athena's bed, holding his phone out for the girl to see.
"what is this?" he questioned, showing the instagram post from the band account announcing their next album, that was to be released that night.
"a phone?" athena joked.
"why didn't you tell me you had another album coming out?" austin frowned.
"cause i wanted it to be a surprise for you too. i mean, you'd practically heard all of lsbm1 before it came out, so i thought this time i wouldn't show anything so you can be just as excited as everyone else." athena explained. austin nodded in understanding.
"anything you wrote?" he asked, placing his phone down. athena nodded.
"a few..." she admitted, not wanting to give too much away.
"anything about me?" austin pressed, eyebrow raised.
"perhaps." athena shrugged. austin groaned.
"you're really not gonna give me anything huh?" he pouted. athena sighed.
"fine. i wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on the album. one is about you, one is a song i wrote ages ago about an ex who really fucked me up. oh and i wrote a song about rafe and eisele." she explained.
"as in drew and abi's characters?" austin clarified. athena nodded.
"yeah. that's what i started writing that day on set, i had this one line that wouldn't leave my head, so when i flew home i sat down and rewatched all of their scenes and it kinda just wrote itself."
"that's really cool." austin grinned. athena bit her lip lightly.
"you don't think it's dorky?" she checked.
"no, i think it's really amazing that you were so inspired by our show that you made something for it." he confirmed. "can you write a topper song next?"
athena rolled her eyes playfully.
"sure. do you happen to have a rhyme for rich bastard?"
"ouch. i'm hurt." austin fake gasped. athena giggled, excited that she no longer had to keep the secret of the album from austin.
only a few more hours until he could hear it.
