There was an awkward silence back in Alyssa's apartment. Everyone was on edge and afraid to say anything to avoid a negative reaction.
Alyssa looked at everyone one by one while sitting to the side. Everyone was in different spots of the room.
Rhiannon was the first to break the silence "The car is going to be here soon. I think we should start heading down since you know we are all wearing heels."
"Yeah I agree." Llydia added
Alyssa sighed in a petty way "Fine yeah that's probably a good idea."
There was an awkward silence again when walking down to the lobby and outside. The car had just pulled up when they got down there.
One by one they piled on and prepared for the car ride to Shi's mansion.
Eventually after what felt like an eternity of sitting in silence with a breath here and there; they arrived at the mansion.
A giant statue in the middle of the front yard welcomed anyone that came up the hill from the entrance gates. A house that seemed the same size as a hotel stood before them. The car pulled behind another identical car under the marble pillars.
The few men family members that came exited their car then waited for the women to come out. Of course Alyssa was first then followed by Liz. Joe extended his arm to Llydia to which she fell into his arms.
He whispered "How did it go?"
Llydia turned around and smirked at Hennessy as she was the last to exit the car.
Donny stood at a distance and waited for Hennessy to make her way over to him.
Then donny asked the same question "How did it go?"
Hennessy chuckled "Well it definitely went. You know, typical girl get togethers."
A security guard waited to take everyone inside to the bottom floor which led to a massive party area. A mix of ball and dining rooms with long tables. Then finally a personal bar and club.
After a couple minutes of waiting, the sound of high heels and footsteps started to approach.
"Good evening everyone, it's a pleasure to have you here in my somewhat home." Shi exclaimed as he entered the doorway with his girlfriend by his side.
He took a quick walk around the room to greet everyone personally then soon enough everyone had a drink.
Shi clinked his glass with a butter knife "I would like to make a toast to everyone who was able to make it and to the new additions to both families."
"Cheers!" Everyone shouted
"So Shi this is quite the place you've got here!" admired Joe
"Why thank you Joe! Believe it or not, I don't actually live here most of the time. We have a smaller house in North Side. This is mostly for parties and get together."
Everyone seemed to be amazed
He continued "I hope everyone is okay with hanging out here for a bit. It just seemed more casual than going straight to the dining room. Before we get too deep into the night let's take a group picture to document this moment."
As the night went on both Shi and the family realized they have more in common then they thought.
Donny turned to Shi "Is there any businesses you are in the process of starting right now? or like big projects?"
Shi sipped his drink "Actually yes. I was telling Hennessy about this but I am actually going into make up." He let out a slight laugh "Sounds crazy like why would I do that but apparently makeup is like diamonds so why not invest into that."
This caught Alyssa's attention "Make up? Is it going to be like a designer brand?!"
"We hope one day go make it like that but it's still in the works. We thought a fitting name would be Diamond Beauty with also a skin care line. We are lucky too to already have a brand ambassador." He hugged his girlfriend then finished his thought "Well other than our CEO."
But before he could go into any other detail it was time for dinner.
The young night later became old rather quickly when the moon started to fall back asleep.
Everyone began exchanging hugs and handshakes when it was finally time to leave.
The car ride home was quiet in both cars; the only noise was the sound of the tires rolling against the road. The stars started to fade in the sky as they got closer to home. Hennessy leaned up against the window and dazed out. She had a good feeling as her eyes started to close. For the first time in a long time she felt like she did something right and made people proud.
She was awakened by the sound of the car door opening. Slowly everyone stumbled out from exhaustion and the effects of wearing heels. Hennessy was the last one left in the car; in the very back too. In a way this ruined the vibe. She wished she was leaving to go home to the same building as everyone else.
But finally it was her turn. As she left she smiled and thanked the driver then made her way inside.
