Aiden lept out of his chair and stood in front of Jayne, protecting her.
"If you want to kill her, then you have to kill me first."
He was petrified, but willing to do anything to save his fiancée and un-born child.
"Why are you protecting her?" Asked a vampire. "She is more like us than you. A mixed blood, werewolves idea of a play toy..." Aiden looked at Jayne and she nodded,
"Tell them, Aiden." Aiden grimaced, then whispered
"Sorry, Jayne." He spoke more forcefully.
"Jayne and I are going to get married. There is nothing you can do or say to stop that." Jayne smiled weakly at the shocked people,
"Um.. Yeah, we are in love." They stayed quiet about the baby.Aiden's dad glared daggers at Jayne, then turned his gaze to his son.
"As the alpha, all marriages have to go through me before they are official. I do not remember clearing this one." He said in a cool, calm voice.
"Aiden, is there something you would like to ask?"
"Um.... Yeah." Aiden said, glancing back at Jayne for her approval. Jayne smiled slightly at him and gave a small nod.
"Dad, um, alpha, please may you grant permission for the marriage and binding of myself and Jayne?"
The alpha looked smug.
"On one condition. She removes the vampire blood from her."
"What?" Aiden asked, aghast. "And how can she do that?"
The alpha smirked.
"She must be stabbed with a wooden stake through the heart."
"But that will kill her!" Aiden protested.
"It will kill the vampire in her. The werewolf may live on."
"May?" Aiden questioned.
"There is a 50-50 chance that the werewolf will survive." The alpha smirked at Aiden, then looked around at the others at the table. The werewolves looked smug, the vampires looked horrified. The oracle wasn't paying attention. Then Jayne noticed, Sara had gone pale and looked worried.
"Your going to have to do it Aiden." She whispered to her fiancée.
"No." Aiden said, then grabbed her hand and dragged her out. Sara followed.Sara followed Jayne and Aiden outside, she felt incredibly guilty and partly responsible for what had happened.
"Aiden! Jayne!" They turned to look at her, Aiden was almost crying. Sara went cold. "I know how to mask the vampire in you. Werewolves will see you as a werewolf and vampires will see you as a vampire."
"I could bring peace between the realms."
Aiden shook his head,
"I don't know, Jayne. It could be dangerous. You could get hurt. What about the b.. The you know what?"
Jayne ignored him and said to Sara,
"What do I have to do?""Er......" Sara wasn't expecting Jayne to take up her offer. She just wanted to look like she was helping, when in actual fact she had no idea what to do.
"Er...... I've.... Forgotten. Um..... Just..... Run away! Aha! Yeah, c'mon!" Sara began to run back to Aiden's flat.
"Pack some stuff and get outta here!"Jayne and Aiden stood still. Where would they run to? No mans land? Jayne certainly did not want to go back there. Aiden shook his head.
"We will not run. Cowards run. We are most definitely not cowards."Jayne gave small whimper and Aiden looked pityingly at her.
"But then you'll have to kill Jayne. Or not get married." Sara said, and a conflicted expression passed across Aiden's face. Sara persisted.
"And if you kill Jayne, she might die. And if you don't marry her, your dad will probably kill her. Or sell her body to other men. You know that's all he thinks of her. There's no other option." Sara carried on, a devilish idea crossing her mind.
"Or, if you don't want to seem like a coward, you could kill her but-"
"No." Aiden snapped. "We will run."
"Good that." Sara said. "We can make it look like you've been kidnapped. If I disappear too, and we make your flat look like a struggle has taken place, your dad will believe it. Let's get going!"
They all set off for Aiden's flat. They soon arrived at his flat.
Aiden went in first, holding Jayne's hand. Sara followed close behind, checking no-one saw them before shutting the door.
'Actually, it would be better for us if I was seen going in with them...' She thought to herself.
Jayne rushed off to her room, having abandoned the wheelchair earlier. Aiden went into his room. Sara stood and waited, as she had no belongings of her own. She lived in a big, run down building on the other side of the city with a bunch of other wolves, and everything belonged to everyone in there. Then started to get the flat prepared.
She mixed some water and some milk in with some ketchup so it looked like blood and sprayed it over the floor; she moved sofa's about as if they had been knocked out of the way; she ripped a couple of rugs; she smashed a window; she broke the lock on the door. Aiden came out and looked shocked.
"It really does look like someone's been attacked." He said, taking Jayne's hand as she came out.
"Now we need to leave without anyone seeing.""But your house.. It's been destroyed. I know that we've done it intentionally, but it feels.. Wrong.."
"It's fine." Aiden said, taking out a spare t-shirt and ripping it then throwing it across the room.
"Let's get outta here. We need to make sure you're safe." He placed a hand on Jayne's stomachJayne smiled up at him,
"If you are sure, honey. We need to put Mr. Bump here ahead of ourselves.""Mr Bump?" Sara asked, making the two lovers jump. "Whaaaaat have I missed?"
"Umm.. Nothing! It is what I call Aiden, because he is so clumsy"
Sara gave Jayne a suspicious look.
Jayne ignored it.
"C'mon." Aiden said, opening the door a crack and peeking out.
"Aiden. Just kill me. I can't do this. I don't care if everyone finds out about the baby. I don't want him to constantly be on the run for his or hers entire life. And when I am heavily pregnant it won't be good for me or the baby."
"No." Aiden says.
Sara gasps. "Baby?!""Fine. I will kill myself." Jayne pulls a stake from her pocket and before anyone can stop her, she plunges it through her heart. "I want to be normal" her world goes black.
