Arachnophobia

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I'm still working on the wedding imagines and some scenario prompts to post, which is why they aren't up this week. However, I wrote up this short story of Aryia dealing with a spider for Y/N like the kind and helpful boyfriend he is. I know Aryia doesn't like bugs himself as they creep him out, but I thought that the idea behind this story was pretty sweet, so I decided to write it up. I'll hopefully have the scenarios out next week and the week after and the wedding imagine will be posted in the new year (as it's taking me a really long time to write and the scenarios I'm making are Christmas themed to go with December and the current season). I hope you all enjoy this imagine! 😊

Warnings: Spiders
-

Aryia!” Your boyfriend heard you calling out to him from your bedroom. Your tone was levelled but also contained an underlying note of panic.

He instantly recognized it as a voice someone might use if they had seriously injured themselves before going into shock. Quickly, Aryia sprang up from the couch, rushing to where you were.

“What is it? What happened?” He asked in concern.

When he reached the doorway, his eyes sought you out. You didn’t appear to be hurt but your expression clearly indicated that something was wrong. Aryia cocked his head to the right in confusion, waiting for you to explain. Without a word, you raised your hand and shakingly pointed to the upper corner of the room.

That’s where he found it; a medium-sized, black, long-legged spider.

For a few seconds he was slightly creeped out and didn’t really understand what was going on. But when it hit him that you were even more creeped out by the insect than he was, there was no way for him to hold back his laughter.

“Can you please just kill it!” You pleaded, scared that the arachnid would do something if it wasn’t dead.

You trembled a little as you wrapped your arms around yourself from discomfort. Your cheeks were also flushed a bright pink color from embarrassment. Aryia would never have guessed that you had a stereotypical girly fear. Though to be fair, he wasn’t too overly keen on bugs either, just thought of one crawling around was enough for him to be creeped out. He always used to offer to get rid of spiders and other insects when he lived with Kévin and Mike in the Slap House – since his roommates were so afraid of bugs; and still kind of were – but this was only because he was the least scared of bugs compared to everyone else in the house. And the spider in the room right now was hardly anything to be scared of.

“You’re scared of spiders?” He chuckled, making no attempt to catch the bug.

You gave him a pout with a slightly sour glare.

“I’m not afraid of them,” You denied, “I just don’t like it when they move around!” You mimicked an insect’s scuttling legs with your fingers.

He wanted to laugh so hard but you were being completely serious. His stomach hurt because of how hard he was trying to restrain and hide his laughter.

“This one isn’t moving.” He pointed out the obvious.

Yeah, well it could!” You cried. “And I’d rather if it was dead before it has the chance to move!”

Even as you spoke, your eyes kept flitting back towards the spider to keep tabs on it. Aryia suspected you were afraid that it might suddenly jump out at you.

“Are you gonna kill the thing or not?!” Your nervous yet demanding tone brought him back to the matter at hand after he had thought about how you had dealt with insects before moving into the KRAC House.

Aryia sighed. “I’ll put it outside.”

He walked back to the kitchen to grab a cup and a newspaper. When he got back to your room, he found you crouched down by his side of the bed, cowering slightly as he saw you hiding your face behind the bed covers you were gripping tightly. You must have been really freaked out.

You would hardly press him for help when making music or videos for YouTube but you were all but begging him to kill a spider.

She needs to sort out her priorities.’

The insect was anything but difficult to capture. As Aryia had suspected, it ran around inside the glass, not understanding what was happening to it. ‘Be thankful, little guy,’ he thought, ‘if Y/N had dealt with you, you’d be squashed.

“Do you want to see it?” Aryia couldn’t help but smirk at the prospect of teasing you.

No!” You squealed. “Don’t you dare bring that thing over here! Please put it outside!” You cried out

Aryia jokingly stepped forwards, as though he was going to show you the spider he had caught.

“Stop! Stop! Stop!” You pleaded as you shuffled backwards with your eyes closed.

Fine.” He laughed, walking outside to free the spider into the garden.

Aryia watched it scuttle away into the night, but frowned as he felt a forebodingly dark energy behind him. He turned around and shivered at your steely expression. Your eyebrows were knotted together and your lips were pulled into a straight line.

“You’re such a rat.” You pouted.

Before he could respond, you marched forwards, grabbed the newspaper he’d used to pick the spider up with and began to swat him with it.

OwHey! It was just a spider!”

But you showed no mercy to him.

Ow! Y/N! That was my eye!”

If he wanted to remain in one piece, Aryia would have to apologize. “Okay, okay.” He relented. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you with the spider.”

You raised an eyebrow. “And for making fun of me?” You added.

Well, compared to scaring you with the insect he had trapped in the glass, he might not been as sorry for that. Your reaction had been hilarious. He could never have imagined you having such a common fear.

And for making fun of you.” He conceded. It wasn’t his most genuine apology, but he still said it to you. It was easier for him to lie so that you wouldn’t tell him to sleep on the sofa; even if his lie was only a tiny one.

You rolled your eyes slightly, instinctively knowing that your boyfriend was still amused about you wimping out about a spider.

“Just so you know, since it’s getting a little colder outside, more spiders will be trying to get inside the house.”

His warning made your face pale.

“Don’t tell me things like that.” You whined in a creeped out tone as you covered your ears.

“Don’t worry, Y/N.” Aryia smiled openly at how vainly you tried to escape the conversation. “I’ll protect you from the creepy crawlies.” He told you, softly kissing your forehead as you walked back inside the KRAC House.
