Part:6 Closing in

October's POV

After Ekko had told us everything we all walked downstairs. I sat on the couch as Vi sat next to me arguing with Mylo over something completely irrelevant while Powder put her head in my lap. All the sudden we heard the toy monkey Vander had set up, incase there was ever any danger go off. I looked at Vi before we all got up. I started helping Powder get up to the ceiling and right as we were all finally up there, we heard the door open. An enforcer came in and was rummaging around obviously looking for us. I started to hear fast breathing so I looked up, that's when I noticed Powder slipping. Right as he was about to walk out the door Powder slipped, but luckily I was able to grab her with my foot. The enforcer turned around for a second to see where the noise came from. I was using all of my body strength to keep Powder from falling. I could feel everyone's eyes on us, Especially Vi's. Finally, the enforcer walked out and I relaxed just letting me and Powder fall to the floor. Everyone was getting down and Vi walked over to me. "You alright Sunshine?" She said while helping me up. "Yeah but that fall is definitely gonna leave a bruise." I said while getting up and rubbing my back. Just then Vander walks in.
"You all okay?" He said looking around at us. " No, we're not okay. They almost saw Powder. What if they took her." Vi said while letting go of my hand to walk closer to him. "No one is taking any of you. Never let that happen" Powder turned on a light and I walked over to her to help her turn on the others. "It's already happening. You heard him, they won't stop. We need to fight back." Vi said while punching a wall. "And if you won't, I will." Vander sighed before looking back at her. "I've heard this kind of talk before. Come with me."

After Vi and Vander left we where all sitting there trying to make sense of what had just happened. "Hey Gizmo, can I talk to you?" I looked back at Claggor and simply nodded. And with that, we started to go outside and take a walk. We where silent for a little until Claggor spoke up "Y'know I love you like a sister, right?" That took me by surprise, even though Claggor was a anxious person, I always thought that the one thing that both of us could be sure of was our relationship. " Claggor of course I do." I stopped walking and so did he. It took him a second to be able to look me in the eyes, probably because he knew that they would be full of worry. " what's going on Clag?" He finally looked back at me " I- nothing I'm just a bit worried because of the rumors of apparently the lanes are gonna fight and I was scared that if anything where to happen to either of us-" "nothings going to happen Claggor." I cut him of. " I know I just wanted you to know that all jokes aside I do love you and think of you as my sister-" I cut him off again but this time with a hug. " I love you too Claggor."

After that I walked inside and sat on the bed with Powder. Me and Powder were working on one of her bombs. She always like the way I could draw the monkey face. So when she couldn't get it right, she called me over to do it for her while she tinkered with the other bombs. Vi walked in after a little while and walked up to me and Powder. " Look, I made them for the enforcers." Powder said holding up her bomb. "These are smoke bombs, and these 2 are full of nails." Powder said with a proud domineer. "They're gonna work this time, I know it." "I do too Powder." I said leaning on her shoulder while continuing to color the other bomb. "Me too" Vi said looking from me back to Powder. She set the bunny down in her lap and I looked up at the bunny then her. "You know Powder, what makes you different makes you strong. Always remember that, okay?" I started to get suspicious. This was sounding a little but to much like a goodbye.. "You too Sunshine." She said smiling and breaking me out of my trance. "Yeah" I said while giving her a slight smile.

Once I finally figured out why it sounded like a goodbye I rushed over to Benzo's shop as fast as I could. I burst in to see Vi sitting there in a chair. She looked up at me shocked. "Tobi? What are you doing her-" I started slapping her getting angry "what the hell where you thinking?!what where you just going to leave us all behind? What would Powder do without you? What would I do without you-" she wrapped her arms around me trying to calm me down from the ranting and slapping fit I was going on. "I'm sorry okay, someone needs to take the blame-" then all do it-" "No." I thought this time before pushing away and answering. " yes it's the perfect plan, I take your place and you stay here with Powder-" "No October." I could tell she was agitated by my idea became she said it so sternly and even went as far as to use my full name. Just then Vander came in with Benzo right behind him. We both turned around to look at them. "Vander?" "We don't have much time." "How did you find us?" I said while fully turning around. " I'm proud of you, both of you. Always have been. He was starting to confuse me. How did that relate to the current situation at all? "I'm sorry, I-.. this is the only way to protect the others." " I'll take her place." A blurted in " No. You won't." Vi stated. "Neither of you will be doing anything of that sort." Vander budded in. "Vander!" Benzo said to him. He looked more frantic as he turned back to us before saying. "You 2 have good hearts , don't ever loose it. No matter how this world tried to break you." " What are you-" then he pulled both of us into one of Benzo's back closets and shut the door.
