"Class, listen up. For the remaining five minutes take independent time to work on your upcoming book presentations." Mrs. Mitchelson announced.

Perfect. Another opportunity to demonstrate my averageness to everyone. Not that I would be noticed anyway. Just as someone would expect from an average joe like me, I chose the most average book, The Voyage Of The Beagle.

All of my average life, I had been consumed by the crowd. I was just another person that you would pass on the sidewalk and just ignore. Yet, somehow a totally average person like me was in a class filled with very unusual and outstanding individuals. Yay... another way I could see just how average I was.

I read some manga, light novels, comics, textbooks, and regular novels just like any other student. Like all average people in the world, I wished I was something more.

Though, unlike many people, I didn't want superhuman strength to fight baddies or whatever. My sole wish was to date a handsome and hopefully rich guy. Maybe get married or whatever. Alas, due to my average qualities, not once has a guy, nor anyone else noticed me. If there was a god or goddess, I would blame them for my averageness.

On the positive side, the one good thing about my life is that I don't stand out in a negative way. On the other hand, that would mean that I'm not noticeable in a good way either. Living this average life was overrated, I mean, couldn't I have gotten lucky and had the life of some of my classmates?

Though, that might be asking for too much. Compared to my classmates, I am less noticeable than the floor. To them, I didn't really exist, hence leading me to live out my life a loner. Not that I could argue. Everything from my hair, to my eyes, body build, name, and lifestyle screamed average.

If anything in this average life of mine could change, I would want it to be my romantic success. One date with a hot guy, that was all I would ever need!

"Hey, brats! Get out of here, school is officially over!" Mrs. Mitchelson yelled. "I've got a date with a hot guy after this and I need you all out of here so I can leave!"

I gripped my fists. Stupid english teacher. How come someone like her can get a date, yet I can't seem to even be noticed! How infuriating!

I stormed out to my locker in frustration. Yet, to my surprise, I found a letter inside. I opened the envelope in suspicion and excitement.

It read, "Dear Lilly, I have something I would like to tell you about. Meet me at the pool after school. Ps: Please don't ignore this. It would hurt my feelings."

What could this be? Could it be the legendary letter of love? No no no! That could not possibly be the case. No one would ever send a love letter to an average girl like myself. The most likely possibility was that it was a prank. I didn't know if that was true, so I decided to go check it out. I convinced myself that no harm could come of it.

When I arrived at the pool, I saw an angel before me. No, a god. The world's hottest guy was in front of me! I nearly fainted from excitement. Was he the one that sent the letter? If so, then what did he want with me? Was this a confession?

The guy turned around, his heavenly aura blinding me momentarily. He flashed a smile in my direction, causing me to nearly faint again. I knew that my face had to be absolutely flushed.

"I'm so glad that you came. I was worried that you wouldn't!" The boy shouted out. "What a relief. I can finally get this load off of my shoulders."

"What is it that you wanted to tell me? I tentatively asked.

"Well, not all of it. First off, I'll introduce myself. I'm Eric King." He introduced. "Most importantly, I wanted to tell you something really important."

"Yes?"

"W-will you go out with me? I love you!"

Wait, what?! He just c-confessed to me? Oh my piggies, this had to be a dream! Nothing this unaverage could happen to me! Even if it was just a dream, I had to take a chance. Maybe it could turn out to be real.

"I will so go out with you!" I squealed.

"Really? I'm so pleased that you said yes! I was afraid that you would have turned me down!" Eric let out a sigh of relief. "Are you free this saturday?"

"Yes! I don't have anything planned."

"Perfect! Then, if it is not too sudden, would you mind going on a date with me then? I have a place I would like to take you to. Does noon sound like a good time?"

"Noon on saturday is fine with me! Where do you want to meet up?" I asked.

"Do you know where Daddy's Cookout is?" Eric questioned.

"Yes." I replied.

"Great, then we can meet there at noon. Can't wait to see you there!"

Eric left and I squealed in excitement. I could hardly believe what had just happened. One of the hottest guys in the universe had just asked me out on a date! Woohoo!

I raced back to my house, completely stuck in my own world. My thoughts were all about Eric. His smell, clothes, looks, and his awesome personality.

Saturday felt like forever away, and the days leading up to it were sooooo bland! However, Saturday felt like a breeze when it arrived.

We met up exactly where we had planned to, me with my best dress on(I had to go buy one last minute) and Eric... and no matter what he wore he was perfect. I shook my head. Focus. I had to pay attention to what he was saying.

"Lilly, did you hear me? I asked if you were good going to this cafe." Eric interrupted.

"What cafe?" I asked.

"Laurel Cafe."

"Sure!"

He led me along, hand in hand, and I have to say that I was the happiest person ever! A date with a hot guy! Yippie!! My average self was finally becoming unaverage! I could step up in the world!

He led me into an ally about five blocks away from Daddy's Cookout, and paused.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

He turned to me and simply smiled. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just happy to be here with you! Nothing more!"

As we walked further into a strange area, Eric continuously glanced around. Was he looking for the cafe? Were we lost?

"E-Eric? Are we lost?" I quivered.

"No, we are exactly where we need to be." He answered.

He covered my eyes with his hands and led me for about a minute before uncovering them.

"Welcome to Laurel Cafe. It's where I'll be holding your funeral." Eric said.

Before I realized what was happening, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. I looked down and saw something red flowing out of me.

Wha-what? H-huh? Red? A knife? Was that a knife sticking out of me? H-uhh...?

I collapsed and curled up in pain. I could faintly hear laughter. Eric maybe? Oh, and another voice too.

"Eric... help me... it hurts..." I begged.

"Haha, helpless fool. She hasn't even realized that you were the one who stabbed her." A feminine voice said.

Huh? A new girl was standing next to Eric. What did she say? That Eric stabbed me? It couldn't be.... could it?

Unable to stay conscious, I blacked out.
