Pills.
Pills everywhere.
All the pink-haired maniac could see were the pills splayed out on his penthouse's floor. His colleagues were getting concerned for him, especially his brother, considering he's downed thrice the usual drugs he's taking.
But why would he stop? If that's the only way he could see you, then he'll gladly take every illegal substance in the world just for an extension of time to see you. He doesn't care if it's messing up his system."My body be damned.", he grumbled to himself as he picked up the remaining capsules on the ground. He didn't even realize he was crying until he hears himself gasp for air. "I'm so sorry, love, please come back."
"Haru, please, you've got to start to be careful! What if you never come back one day?!", your sweet voice scolds him as he stomps over to the bedroom, while you follow suit behind him."You've got to stop putting shit up in your pretty little head, Y/N! I 'm Bonten's Number Two. Everybody's got their faith in me, so why don't you?!", he yells, brows furrowing and nose scrunching in anger.
"I do have faith in you, Haru, but I can't help but think of the worst when my husband hasn't come home in 2 days with no response whatsoever only to show up at the door all bloodied and at the brink of death!", you bark back, tears brimming at the end of your eyes and mouth wobbling in sadness.
He has always been like this. Refusing to get treatment, leaving you to patch him up and nurse him until he gets better. Only for him to treat you ungratefully as if you haven't been dating for 7 years and married for 3.
Where did your sweet Haruchiyo go? Where was the one who'd always bring flowers as an apology for even being a few hours late go? His hand ruffling his own head, trying to find the right words for his reason. The one who'd nuzzle his face in your stomach as you scold him for his recklessness while you patch him up. The one who'd force you to relax on the couch as he finishes cleaning the dishes, rolling up his sleeves and make suggestive remarks at how you'd stare at his arms for far too long. The one who'd make sure you didn't go to bed upset, even if he was still evicted to the couch. Where on earth did he go?
Now, he barely even had enough time for you, always working. You suspected that he was having an affair. You had to get reassurance from Mikey and the rest of the executives that he wasn't. But it still didn't help. You tried your best to be patient for him, and tried to find where you both went wrong. Yet you didn't know where you actually did. It was like he woke up and thought he didn't love you anymore. That he didn't want to wake next you.And to Haruchiyo, he thought it was that, too. Not until he found himself waking up in his own office, searching for your warmth to embrace him. Not until he found himself longing for your warm food as the said cooking had now turned cold. He really thought he had fallen out of love with you, but when he tried to look at other women, his face scrunched up in disgust and thought to himself that 'nope, they could never compare to you.' It was still you. So what the fuck was the reason?
Was the wealth and power overtaking him? Did he forget who was there through his ups and downs? Surely, he didn't forget but for the former, yeah.
Probably. It probably was consuming him.
He didn't realize it until it was too late.
Until you placed the divorce papers in front of him. Begging him to just sign it. He didn't want to, but after hearing the Mikey give his say in your relationship, he knew how much it hurt you.
He signed it. He signed it because he thought you would still come back. That it would just be a few months, and the universe would bring you two back again.
Oh, how cruel the world was when his older brother gave him a missing person's note with your face splayed on it just a month after your divorce. He grit his teeth at the fuckers who were bold enough to commit such an act and wasted no time in ordering his men to move and search for you.
It has been 6 months, and still no trace of you. He has spilled countless of blood from his own men each time they came back empty-handed. It has been far too long since your disappearance and the others even suspected that you were no longer alive. Of course, they didn't dare to voice their opinion. The last time someone did, Haruchiyo didn't even hesitate to pull the trigger. He didn't want to admit it, but he was on the verge of giving up, too.
"My sweet angel, where the hell are you?", he mourned. He has never felt so low his entire life. He was about to swallow several more of the pills-- thinking if you actually were dead, he'd be able to reunite with you--when the door of his home opened and a light shined through his dark room. It was Takeomi. He blinked slowly before trying to continue what he was doing when the latter suddenly gave him news that revived the beating in his heart.
"We found her."
