"Good game, everyone!", Ukai congratulated everyone as they gathered around to bow.

"Nice passes there, Kageyama!", a ginger-head sprinted his way towards the ravenette who was busy wiping off his sweat. "Too bad Y/N isn't here to see it, though.", he added, getting the attention of the tall setter.

"What? What do you mean?", he asked, already searching for the figure of a certain girl.

"You mean, you didn't notice? I mean, we were going to tell you at the beginning of the match but you were just too worked up about winning today's game.", Tanaka chuckled dryly.

"Wait a minute...", he paused, "What day is it?"

"Oh, it's December 1st.", Ennoshita replied, checking his phone.

"What's wrong, Kageyama?", Yachi asked, worried.

"Shit.", he cursed under his breath. "Dammit, how could I forget?!"

"What's wrong with December...", Nishinoya's voice died down as the rest of the team realized what day it actually was.

The anniversary of Kageyama Tobio and Y/N L/N.

They all panicked. Well, except for Tsukishima who was screaming internally.

How could they forget a precious day from a precious person?

Y/N was always there at their games and always brought them snacks for after. They were always thankful of her and it was wonderful news when Kageyama and Y/N got together. That means they had two moms, yay!

Even though they were dating, she didn't really seem to mind when Kageyama couldn't schedule some dates. She was far more understanding than anyone about his passion for volleyball and he wanted to give her more than what she deserved.

But, what could he give her? What could he give if he couldn't even give her his time? What could he give if he couldn't even remember their own anniversary? He was cursing himself that she would probably leave him. For being such a good for nothing boyfriend.

"Kageyama! Snap out of it! Y/N's still probably there! Hurry!", the cheers of his team snapped him back from his trance as he grabbed his things and bolted out of the gym.

He didn't care if it was freezing or snowing, all he cared about was how his Y/N was doing.

He ran.

He ran until he was out of breath.

But, he didn't complain.

His love of his life had to endure much more than what he was handling.

'Dammit.'

He ran up to the spot where she mentioned for a long time and he was right, she was there.

Huddled up in the corner, bent down, head laying on top of her knees as she shivered from the cold. He could see the gifts she had brought and he wanted to cry right then and there.

She lifted her head to see his panting, breathless face. She stood up, brought the gifts with her and stopped in front of him.

He was expecting a slap and outraged words from her but it didn't come. All he saw was his darling's smile.

"You're sweating.", was all she said before letting out a small giggle.

"W...Why?", he heaved.

"Hm?"

"Why are you so... Nice? So loving? So... So forgiving? I don't...", he broke down in front of her. "You deserve so much more."

"You're right, Tobio. I do.", she hugged him as she stroked his hair. "I do deserve so much more, and that's why the universe gave me you."

"What?.."

"Tobio, I don't need dates to prove that we're a loving couple. All I need is your love, loyalty and support."

He thanked the world for sending an angel down to him.

He pulled her tighter to his embrace and engaged her in a warm kiss.

"Thank you so much... And... Um...", he said as he pulls out a gift from his bag. "I-I have had this for a while now and I was waiting for graduation t-to make it more special b-but here!"

She grabs the small gift as she realizes what it was.

"Y-Your jersey?! B-But, T-Tobio, this is too special for you to give it to---"

"Exactly why I am giving it to you!", he sniffed from the coldness. "A special item for my special other."

"Tobio...", she grinned as she leaped onto him for a hug, "Thank you so much! "

"No... Thank you, Y/N. For making my life brighter.", he whispered as he kissed her forehead.

...

"Y/N liked the jersey I gave her. I should play more games to give her more jerseys.", the black-haired teen stated as calculating aura emitted out of him.

"Neh, neh, Kageyama, that's cute and all but wouldn't Y/N feel suffocated if she has to wear large jackets? Why not try giving her books?", Yamaguchi adviced him as he nudged him gently.

He stopped his antics and went on to overthink Yamaguchi's idea, instead.

"Coach! Kageyama's broken, again!", Hinata shouted like it was a normal thing.

"What?! Ugh, call Y/N for me.", he groaned as they pulled the heavy setter from the bench.
