Chapter 14

Addie POV

I want them to never find me. I need to find a good place to hide.
But where...
Maybe I could be an orphan, like Annie, or I could be a hobo joe.
I just need to look like a hobo and act like a hobo...
Right now I was at a seven eleven store, my most valuable things in my arms. I took a seat on the concrete and started to go through it.
I found a rusty bucket I guess I could put in front of me for money, but I still need to wear homeless people clothes. Oh, why am I doing this?
I started to pick at my black nail polish. What was I supposed to do? What do the homeless do all day??

Abby POV
Mom and Dad got home today and there are still no signs of Addie.
"Where's Addie?" Mom had asked.
"Um, in her room."
But just as I said that, Dad picked up the note I forgot to hide and showed it too Mom.
"Now why would she run away?" she complained with a slight groan.
I decided not to tell her. So I pretended I didn't hear her and I ran up to my room.

"Abby get your butt down here!!!"
I ran downstairs and saw Mom holding the phone.
"May called, and I asked her if she knew anything about Addie. Why did you leave Addie at the mall, alone? Why did you put make up on her face in her sleep? And don't get me started on the dog..."
How did May know all of that? And why would she tell my mother in me?
"Abby, you are grounded until we find Addie, go back to your room now young lady!!" She screamed which woke Dad up from his nap.
"Who is sounded til we kind paddie?" he mumbled, clearly flustered from is abrupt wake up. I just went up to my room. Mom won't ever think about actually taking away my electronics, I can still play on my laptop with her ever knowing. Clueless mother.
My mom as been frantically calling everyone she knows and is panicking more by the second.
And I'm stuck in this room, grounded, until she's found. There's nothing I can do to help her.
