"G-Good! You're h-here!"
Sans nodded at the Royal Scientist as she stepped aside to let him into her lab, the skeleton adjusting his visitor tag as the doors closed behind him.
"i promised i would alphys." He chuckles to her as she walks by his side.
"I-In my defense, you have a-a history with not k-keeping promises." Alphys remarks pushing her glasses are her nose. Sans rolls his eye lights as he lets her lead the way deeper into the building.
"fair." Sans says with a snicker. "but i kept this one."
"D-Do you want m-me to bring up t-the times you h-haven't?" The reptile asks with sarcasm, turning back to the skeleton with hands in her hips. Sans holds his arms in the air in a surrendering pose, chuckling to himself.
"no."
"G-Good." Alphys nods before she begins walking again, Sans following behind, matching her pace.
The windows of the lab faced the sunset, which Sans glanced at with a small smile as he continued to follow the former Royal Scientist.
After the Barrier broke, Alphys began working at R Entertainment as a software developer to get her feet on the ground of human technology. That's where she met you actually, and she introduced you to him and the others from there.
Could the circumstances of meeting you be better?
Sure.
Was it a better introduction than how you met his "cousins?"
That's up for debate.
But anyway, soon after a year, Alphys quit RE to join a research facility for cancer medicine before she eventually decided to open her own site where Magic was used in the medication she was giving out.
Sans was currently at her lab, the only one in the world mind you, called "Phys Pal," because he called her earlier that day to discuss something with her.
Alphys led him into an elevator, where the both of them stepped in and she pulling a card out of her pocket. She swiped it on a nearby reader, punching in a set of 7 numbers before pressing enter.
The elevator moves with a jolt, but both monsters are unfazed as they stand patiently for the ride to be over.
"...Sooo..."
Nevermind, scratch the patient stuff.
"How's the 'fam?' " Alphys turns to Sans with a nervous smile as she asks her question.
Sans holds back a sigh but he doesn't turn to her, only glancing up at the numbers that displayed as they went down. "okay." Sans replies vaguely. "believe it or not, edge took a liking to her."
"R-Really?!" Alphys asks out of genuine shock, which makes Sans chuckle.
"i mean... kinda?" Sans tells the reptilian, confused himself. "he still acts like himself, just, nothing mean to her."
"I w-would say t-that's progress!" Alphys states with glee, the skeleton smiling with her as he felt her energy.
"i guess - "
Just then, the elevator dings.
All of a sudden, the heaviness of why Sans was there came back, and both their smiles dropped from their faces.
Sans watched as the elevator doors opened, and he took a deep breath before turning to the former scientist.
"so how bad?" Sans asked bluntly.
