Abbi and Rick headed towards the Sheriff's office to get more supplies and guns. Rick mainly did everything because Abbi was shy and didn't really know what to do. Rick was finding all sorts of neat rifles and handguns. "I wonder why no one would come here to get guns or any kind of weapons." Abbi said as she picks up an AK-47. "Put that down before you hurt yourself or someone. No one came here because every thing is locked up and only certain people have the keys. We also hide it deep down inside the office." "Well, I didn't know that!" Abbi screams at Rick and runs out to the hallway so she didn't have to deal with him and his smart mouth. Rick lets her go without saying a word. Abbi travels down the long dark hallway that kept twisting randomly. She has never been in the Sheriff's office before so she has no clue where she is going. Abbi wanders as she looks inside every door that she passes. She stops because she heard someone talking in the room a couple doors down from her. "I think that we should go down to the weapon storage unit." one of the voices murmur. "What if we aren't the only ones who thought of that though?" another voice replies to the first one. "No one else can access the weapon storage unit unless they have the key, which I do. We are going down there but follow my lead and have your gun ready to fire." Abbi hears the people start to walk out the room so she runs back down to the storage unit to find Rick and to warn him about the strange people she heard. When she got down there she couldn't find Rick. She looked all over the place by calling out his name but not very loudly so the strangers didn't hear her. Suddenly Rick pops out of a room and Abbi jumps with fear. "Rick there are other people in the building and they are heading right towards the weapon storage unit!" Abbi exclaims. "Okay we can hide in here, follow me." Rick leads Abbi inside of the room he had just came out of. The room was good sized and looked like it could have been an old office for one of the police men. It had a big brown desk that was slightly too big and a flat screen computer monitor that was pitch black. "We can hide in this closet." Rick says as he opens the door and gestures for Abbi to get in. Abbi gets in and stands as far from the door as she could. "Rick, what if these people find us? Do you think they will kill us?" Rick closes the door of the closet and looks over at Abbi. "I really doubt they will find us just be quiet for a few okay?" Abbi stands there quietly listening to her surroundings. She hears someone walk into the storage unit. "Hey Ray, I think I found where all the weapons are held." "Can you be any louder!? God! I think someone was already here because the door was already opened." Ray says. "I don't know Ray there are still a lot of guns and ammo left." "That doesn't mean anything dumbass! Someone could have heard us and hid. We can't play stupid the world isn't safe anymore. Now do me a favor John start grabbing guns and ammo." Inside the storage unit is a lot of shuffling and movement. "I know who Ray is. He worked as a police officer for the town. If he finds us he will probably kill us so stay quiet." Rick whispers to Abbi. Abbi gets a look of fear in her eyes as tears run down her face. "Good thing I am a quiet crier." Abbi thinks to herself. She starts thinking about her family and how her life will no longer be the same from now on. She remembers all her friends and all the good times they will no longer have. She flashes back to the day before the apocalypse happened. Her mother and her were baking cakes and cookies for the school's bake sale on Monday. Abbi never really liked cooking with her mother because her Mom would treat her like she was a little kid but in reality she is actaully 16. For some reason she enjoyed cooking with her mother on Sunday night because she enjoyed acting like a little kid again. For once in her miserable, stressful life she felt free and alive. Abbi snaps back to reality knowing that cooking with her mother will never happen again and that her miserbale. stressful life has gotten worst than ever. Suddenly a loud bang happened inside the storage unit. Abbi goes to scream but Rick already had his hand right over her mouth knowing that she was going to scream. "God dammit John! Don't you know what you are doing!? I let you do one thing by yourself and you set the damn gun off! Now you are going to attract zombies!" "I-I'm sorry Ray, I-I didn't know that was going to happen." "Shut up. Grab the guns let's get out of here!" Ray and John grab their items that they just found and head out of the storage unit. Rick moves his hand from Abbi's mouth. "Shh, we have to wait a few more minutes to make sure they are gone." Abbi nods and stays quiet. After a couple of minutes Rick slowly opens up the door and sticks his head out. Rick gestures for Abbi to come out since it is now safe for them. "What shall we do now, Rick?" Abbi asks as she picks up the bag of guns. "We are going to finish up here and be on our way to look for my family." Rick says as he looks down with sadness in his eyes. Abbi agrees and helps Rick pack up the rest of the stuff. The two of them leave the storage unit and head out towards the entrance. Rick looks over at Abbi and says "Are you ready?" Abbi looks at him with pride and replies "More ready than I will ever be Rick."
