Most of the day had gone by, and it was time for lunch. I waited in line until the lunch lady could slap some slop down on my tray. It was white and runny. It looked like mashed potatoes but at the same time reminded me of ceiling insulation. I found my usual spot next to Mary, and played with my "mashed potatoes" for a few minutes. Then, Mason walked in. I watched him looking for a place to sit. So I quickly threw mine and Mary's stuff onto the floor. "Hey! April what was that for?" "Sorry Mary. I was just trying to make some more room. The backpacks were crowding me." I could tell she wasn't buying it. So, that is when I confessed. "I have a crush on Mason."
"But you don't even know him. Plus I thought that you wanted to live your life to the fullest, and worrying about some boy is the complete opposite of that."
Mary may sound like a downer, but she was usually right when it can to these types of things. She was the oldest of three kids, so her brother and sister looked up to her. She had to learn how to become responsible and mature. "I know, and your right. Why should I worry about him. I don't even know him. HE IS COMING THIS WAY!!!"
(This section is in Mason's POV) I looked around for an empty spot, but I also payed attention to all of the kids. I didn't want to be the typical new kid who doesn't have a seat and has to sit by himself. But as far as I could see, there were no empty spots available. Then, I caught a glimpse of one. It was next to two girls. One who had shorter with blonde hair, and the other was taller with long wavy dark hair. She had blue eyes from what I could tell, and she was pretty. Of course I didn't know her, but I already knew that she was beautiful without having to know her. The problem was that she probably didn't feel the same way about me.
