I'm standing in front of my closet trying to decide what to wear. I'm not really sure what is going to happen, but Mary sounded really excited over the phone, so I have to make sure that I look nice.
After making my outfit choices, the doorbell rang and I knew that it was Mary here to pick me up. "Why can't I drive myself, again? And where are we going?" She just avoided every question and kept driving.
We stopped in front of the lake. "This is our stop." Mary said "Walk to the front and Mason will meet you there, and he will drive you home." "Okay, bye" she waved and drove on. I walked up to the front entrance to the lake and found Mason.
"Hi." He seemed kind of nervous.
"Are you okay. You seem a bit nervous."
"I'm fine, why would I be nervous." We both laughed and started walking. We walked on the rocky path to the lake. The trees had there lights on, and he seemed to have set up a picnic for the two of us. "Did you do this?" I asked. He nodded with a smile. "It is beautiful." I said. We sat on the blanket, and talked for a little while. And then the moment fell silent. Mason stood up and pulled me up. "April, we have been seeing each other for a while now. But it hasn't really been official. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I like you April. I always have since the first day I walked into the classroom. So I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?" I couldn't believe what I just heard. I was so happy. But I stood there in silence, and Mason's face turned from a smile into a worried expression. "It's okay if you don't..." I quickly interrupted him "YES!" And then I hugged him. I felt him out his arms around my waste, u then quickly pulled back. "Sorry. I guess I just got caught up in the moment." He just smiled and out his arm around me.
After we were done, he drove me home. He pulled into the driveway and parked the car. I thanked him for the date, and we sat there in silence. I didn't notice our bodies inching closer together until I felt his lips press to the side of my cheek. I smiled at him and he smiled back.
As I opened the door and walked inside, I thought to myself "now I can cross off getting my first kiss off of my list."
