To love is risky.
To not love is foolish.

Kaiden DeMarcus is a name of a mystery. Who made his world with so many rules and no emotions, who is a jumble of hate, cruelty and always on a verge of total ruin. Who calls his strength his weaknesses, whose tender soul is hidden under his coldness. Who uses anger as an excuse to mask his sadness. Kaiden DeMarcus would rather hold a gun than love or even trust someone. He finds them scarier than bullets. His emotional indifference is always activated. He could kill and not care one bit.

"It's Kaiden DeMarcus"

The words hit me like bullets into my brain. I turned numb. I didn't know if I could move again. Letting him into my life and my friend's life was too much for me. I have known him for three days and my life is more miserable than before.

Carols glossy eyes were looking at him with so much respect as if he was a saint but he was no saint if she could see him from my eyes. He doesn't deserve this respect.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," he said and offered his hand to Carol as she claps her hand in his proudly, "Yeah, me too" she replied proudly.

If only she could know...

Why does he have to come with me, anyway?

"I live down the block, I saw her on the highway on my way here" he looked at me and there he was a gentleman, but still I could see that cruel evil underneath that gentleman facade, "thought maybe I could give her a ride."

"Oh I thought you both know each other...as friends," Carol said with confusion and then she nodded at me.

"Really?" He turned to me with a naughty smirk.

"Well, umm...we-"

"I should leave you both, here. She needs to rest" he told Carol and winked at me with a smirk playing on his face. Then he turned and walked back to his car "stay safe, friend" he called out to me, juggling the car key on the way.

This prick is enjoying this... I really wanna kill him!

As he drove out I turned to walk into the house, Carol nodded at me with a look of confusion. "Nothing Carol, I need some rest." I can avoid her questions right now but not later. I am sure she would have figured it all out by now.

"Yeah, sure but we should inform the police and they might need his statement to find the ones who did this to you." She said, walking me up the stairs.

Police are all under his control. They won't even care.

"That won't be necessary," I replied in a faint tone as I was tired. I just want a hot bath and a comfy bed.

"Why not?" She opened the door for me as I walked in, instantly I stopped as she continued, "Will was saying the same thing that day but he won't tell me why. What is it-"

William. I want to see him after how they have beaten him.

"How is William?" I said cutting her in. She suddenly blinked as if I caught her off guard.
