Third Pov
The agonizing tick of her clock made the white-haired woman twitch. She gazed up at the numbers on the clock with a sigh leaving her lips.
The recent call she got from Iwaizumi had her on edge. Each noise that surrounded her made her nerves bundle up.
Stretching her arms into the air, she yawned in exhaustion. Her golden orbs flickered down at the medical documents from all those years ago. "To think everything will be revealed today." Ai muttered with her hands falling down to her side.
One of her index fingers slid against the top margin of the white papers. The white-haired woman has been staring at these papers all night. The papers that held the truth of everything from ten years ago.
The tip of her digit slid across the name printed at the top right. Bokuto Koutarou. "Maybe if we showed him these sooner-"
Ai's words caught in her throat when the door to her home office slammed open. Her sister came storming in, breathing ragged from the urgent trip.
The white-haired woman jumped out of her seat but was stopped in her tracks by Meg's words. "Ai, Kur-o w-as shot!"
Bokuto pov
All I could do was stare at the pale body that laid on the stretcher. The cart was being pushed and pulled by a multitude of doctors, all of them with the same thought in their mind. Is he going to make it?
That same thought was floating around my mind as well, except along with it came many doubts. My entire mind set was in panic, with my hands jittering by my side. Normally at times like this, I would go to the one person who can always calm me down.
Too bad he's the one I'm broken over.
An image of Kuro flashed through my mind as my body came to a halt. Large doors slammed shut in front of me, leaving me only a small window to see my best friend. I could see his near lifeless figure move from the travel bed to the hospital one.
Unknown to me that tears were streaming down my face, my vision blurred. My hands still shook, along with my body and lips.
A hand grabbed my shoulder, swaying my body around without resistance. Ai stood in my view; her expression clouded in worry.
My older sister didn't wait for any explanation. She put one of her cold hands behind my head and pulled me forward. My face landed on her chest, my palms clutching the sides of her shirt.
Her white blouse became stained with my tears as I let out breathless cries of pain. For once, I wished the pain I felt was physical. I wished it could be solved with simple medicine or a surgery.
But nothing can take it away. Nothing can blur the image of my best friend being shot right in front of my eyes. How my throat went dry in a split second, how his blood is smeared against my clothes and white locks.
Another pathetic cry left my lip. My eldest sister held me tighter, she slowly walked backwards until the both of us were near the corner of the hospital. I wrapped my arms around her as she pecked the top of my head.
"Koutarou." She whispered in a soothing voice. The tone made me pick up my head, when I did, I was met with a bright smile. My eyes went wide from the look, "he's going to be ok." Ai stated with the small tilt of her head.
