My body shifted in discomfort for some unknown reason. At a slow rate, my golden orbs peeled open only to be met with pure darkness. Don't tell me I woke up before sunrise.

With a sigh, I positioned my feet to touch the ground. While trying to adjust on the couch, a wave of dizziness hit me. I groaned as I rubbed my forehead. My back tried to hit the couch, but a laying body stopped me.

I turned my head and saw a drooling Meg behind me. Her short black covered her forehead and left eye. My fingers stroked her cheek, removing some of her hair from her eyes in the process.

Carefully, I got off the couch and scanned the living room. I could see the sleeping silhouettes of my friends and brother- wait. Where is Kuro?

I pushed out a long rush of air before trotting towards his room. His door laid open for me to peek inside. The raven sat on the edge of his bed, looking down at a box of cigarettes in his hand.

A snarl formed on my lips, "why are you up? And give me that." Kuro flinched from my tone as I snatched the box away from him. I walked back across the room, throwing the cancer sticks away before shutting his door.

Kuro turned his head towards me, his mouth clamped shut. I squinted at him, "you already lit one, didn't you?" The raven looked to the ground before opening his mouth. Smoke rose in the air within moments.

Luckily, his opened window transported all that smoke out of his room. The disgust on my face grew, "moron." Kuro rolled his eyes at my comment and tucked his legs in his lap. He placed his hands on his knees and scooted to the side.

Without saying a word, I got the hint and took a seat beside him. "Admit it, you're addicted."

The raven rolled a cancer stick between his fingers, "am not. I have more self-control than you think." His statement made me snort, "You're so stubborn."

"Where do you think I get it from?" Kuro scoffed.

"Maybe your mom was stubborn." I tilted my head and cupped my cheek. Kuro isn't close to his biological family. When he was younger, the raven moved around a lot. Making friends was pretty difficult in that situation.

When he met Kou, our mom offered to take care of Kuro while his parents were gone. That is when Kuro became a part of our family.

"You mean our mom?" Kuro strained his neck to look at me. I gave him a nod, "you couldn't get away with anything."

"neither could you." Both of us let out a soft chuckle. My eyes flicked to the stick in his hand, "you know, you can't be around kids like this."

Kuro rose a brow, "is Kenma pregnant?" The raven snorted and turned his back to me. I pursed my lips and clicked my tongue, "I meant mine."

Silence filled the gap between us. Kuro's shoulders tensed as his mind tried to comprehend what I was saying. "You're pregnant?" The words rolled off his tongue slowly.

"No, but we are trying." I stated, referring to my husband. "He wants kids as soon as possible, he's so excited." A smile graced my lips from the thought.

Kuro didn't speak. I couldn't see his expression, nor did I know what he was thinking. So, I continued. "I rather you not smoke around my kid since you'll be his uncl-"

A laugh made me stop mid-sentence. Kuro shifted his head and looked in my direction. A smile curled on his lips with his hair fluttering.
