Chapter 9 - Planning the Future

After the long talk with Zhan and his parents, Zhan and Yibo actually wanted to go for a walk as planned. But the weather did not play along, because it had begun to rain. And so the two stayed in the house and also spent the afternoon with Zhan's parents. Together they played a board game and had a lot of fun.

When it was time for Yibo to go home again, he promised as he said goodbye, once again, to work on his plan for the future right that evening. And he did! But first he had to tell his father and uncle that he was ready to take over a leading position in the company.

So when he arrived home, he explained to his father and uncle that he had taken advantage of the past few hours and had thought about everything that had been said that morning after breakfast. He pretended that he too felt that his mother had become unacceptable to the company and that she should therefore resign from her position. Which the two of them received with pleasure.

He then stated that he was willing to take over his brother's position so that he could take over his mother's position. The reason he gave for his sudden change of heart was that he was only thinking of the benefits he would receive from his new position in the company.

But to make it look as if he had given up completely without a fight, because after all he is plotting against his own mother, he made one more condition. Namely, that his best friend Seungyoun may take over his leading position in the marketing department. Yibo knows that Seungyoun is very similar to him and therefore he can trust him to do everything for the department. And the two immediately agreed. They would probably do everything they could to put his mother out of business, too. Should he perhaps have made more demands? Mhhh, rather not. Then they might have figured him out.

But then before he went to his room, his father told him that they were going to do the management restructuring within a week and then he would be in his new position in a week. He even told him that he should call his personal assistant Xiao Zhan and ask him to start working sooner. Of course Yibo did not mind at all. Rather the opposite! And Yibo immediately took advantage of the moment and demanded that Zhan get a desk in his office and not in front of it! And his father nodded. His uncle looked at the two only frowning, but said nothing.

After talking to them, Yibo hurried upstairs to his room, where he immediately began to make a to-do list. He gave his list the name "Independence" and listed the first item as, save money! During the conversation with Zhan and his parents, Yibo had deliberately not yet mentioned that he had already saved his money in the last two years.

However, this came automatically, since he had always been supplied at home and at work, with everything he needed. Only for his hobby, the motorcycle driving, he had spent a small part of his money. Otherwise, however, he saved it. And at the moment he at least had enough money to afford a small apartment. But of course, that's not nearly enough to become independent from his family.

At point 2 of his list was to open a Swiss numbered account and transfer all his saved money there. And he did it immediately. He accessed the website of the Swiss bank and applied for an account online. To his surprise, it was activated immediately. He would have liked to transfer his money there immediately, but then he remembered something important. If he transferred the money from his account to the new numbered account, it would be too obvious. After all, this is supposed to be a secret account. Then, of course, the transfer of his money must not show up anywhere in his account transactions.

So he decided to go to his bank first thing in the morning, withdraw his money from the account and deposit it into his numbered account in cash. He can hide the record of that.

After he finished the to-do list, he took a picture of it, sent it to Zhan and then called him to tell him about the conversation with his father and uncle. He also had to inform Zhan that he would have to start working in a week after all. What made Zhan very happy, because now he didn't have to wait 4 weeks, but only one week.
