[Erynn]

Taking my first step outside of that wretched hospital I gleefully let out a squeal, finally feeling free. Niall and Emma giggled behind me as we made our way to his car. I shot them a curious glare as Emma whispered something in Niall's ear and he burst out laughing eyeing me. Over the last couple of days they'd grown really close and it was really heartwarming how nice Niall was being.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow in question but they just shook their heads as Niall pulled out of the hospital parking lot. I rested my head against the cool glass and basked in the sun rays shining through.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay with me?" Niall asked, concern laced into his voice. I shook my head frowning. I couldn't take advantage of him like that. He visited me everyday in the hospital and drove Emma in a couple of times too, he's done so much and I didn't just want to be his charity case. I'm sure I could handle that hell hole as long as it was clear of my father.

He sighed in defeat and turned up the radio bobbing his head along to the music, "...and this next song is from the new boyband One Direction. They've had great success in Europe and are now in California doing some promotion before their anticipated tour. Here it is, Kiss You...." Upbeat music began to play but before any voices came in Niall immediately turned off the radio blushing a little.

"You don't like those guys?" Emma asked, beating me to it. He shrugged and kept quiet. I decided not to press the matter seeing as how I really didn't listen to music much often and didn't know a thing about boy bands.

I took a deep breath looking up at the apartment that held so many terrible memories for me, I tried shoving all those thoughts to the back of my head and put on a brave face for Niall and Em. Reluctantly Niall entered with us but quickly had to leave.

"I'm sorry, Erynn but my mates and I have to attend somewhere. Are you sure you'll be fine?" He asked, refusing to let me close the door. I chuckled at his persistence to take care of me.

"We'll be fine, Niall! Go have fun with your mysterious friends I've heard so much about," I said rolling my eyes, as close as we'd grown over the last few days Niall didn't really tell me much about himself. Just that he was in a band with his four friends that I could tell he's very fond of. Guilt washed over his face which really wasn't my intention. He opened his mouth but closed it again trying to hold back. "Niall you know so much about me, practically everything after all this. Why are you so secretive? You know I could never judge you."

"I know, I know. I'm sorry! I promise I'll tell you everything later tonight. Can I come around at about 8?"

"Of course.." I shifted awkward looking down and twiddling with my thumbs, "....and Niall, thanks so much for everything. I don't know how I could ever pay you back. I'm just some stranger and you completely changed my life and I'm so thankful."

A small smile crept on his face, he tilted my chin up so that our faces were inches apart, "Dont be, no one should ever have to go through that. I'll always be here for you." Slowly he leaned in and my breath caught in anticipation of his next move. His lips brushed against mine and just when I was about to close the minimal distance he pulled away and dropped his hands to his sides. "I-I'm sorry," he spluttered out with more guilt in his expression.

Before I could do anything he ran out the door and down the hall. "Niall!" I called out after him but he was already gone. I closed the door and slumped against it replaying the events that just occured and blinking out my misty eyes.

A few minutes passed by before Emma walked out of her room and noticed me. Quietly she took a seat next to me leaning against the wall, "Are you okay? What happened?"
