Not enough time

Talk at the Ministry

Harry and Ginny tiptoe up the stairs and into their bedroom, without a word Ginny falls asleep. Harry couldn't blame her it was a lot to take in so he as well fell asleep, luckily without any nightmares to keep him awake.

As Albus's alarm clock went off the next morning, he ran to the door but it did not budge. Albus immediately started screaming for help. Lily and James both woke up to the sound of their brother screaming, but were unable to help so they also ended up screaming. Harry was startled at the sound, so he ran out into the hallway and realized he forgot to take down the shield from last night. Harry takes his wand out and muttered a spell, as he does this the shield falls unlocking the doors. Albus, Lily, and James burst out of their rooms and were furious with Harry.

"DAD WHAT DID YOU DO"??? they yelled in unison.

"Sorry, guys I put a shield on your doors".

Lily- "Why?" she spat with fire in her eyes.

"Just for safety you know?" Harry lies and scratches the back of his head knowing he sucks at lying.

James-"Ok...." he says slowly but quickly eyes his father a suspicious look while the other two run down for breakfast.

As Harry was eating with the children he came across the daily prophet and quickly remembered about last night's discussion.

Harry throws Ginny a look and mouths to her, "remember" and Ginny mouths back "I know, I know". Harry clears his throat and begins.

"Luna is coming over to watch you guys, me and your mother are going to be out and we have to run some important errands is that alright with you guys?"

Lily- "Yup that's fine I guess, but that's only if we get to play quidditch out in the garden".

"Alright but don't tell your mother" Harry whispers with a smirk on his face knowing Ginny was in the room next door.

Lily- "I promise," she says while she crosses her heart.

-Time skip

Luna knocks on the door, Harry rushes to it not wanting to waste another second.

Harry- "Thanks for coming over so fast."

"No problem I absolutely love children" Luna reassures him.

Ginny- "Be good for Luna".

Albus- "We will try" he quickly adds.

James- "Good one Albus" he whispers as he gives him a high five.

As Harry and Ginny walk across their front lawn they both smile at the sight of Luna's Threstral, thinking some things never change. Harry and Ginny decide to take their brooms as the fastest way to get to the Ministry of Magic. As they arrive they see the others and walk to the main office where Rose works. They knock on the door and a kind lady opens it.

Rose- "Hi, how are you guys?".

Harry- "Good, thanks for asking," says as he walks in.

Hermione- "It's good to see you again."

Draco- *Kisses her on the cheek*

Rose has a worried look on her face as she walks to her desk.

Rose- "As you know Hermione your time turner has been stolen and we looked at the security footage but we were not able to find anything, what we need to do now is to figure out a plan to stop Voldemort."

Rose goes on to talk about possible plans.

Harry- "Wait, wait, wait......", Rose how do you know about Voldemort?" He questions.

Rose-"Hermione told me, why?"

Harry-"Oh nothing."

Rose- "Follow me I can show you where Hermione's time turner was kept until it was stolen."

They all follow Rose but she stops in her tracks and falls to her knees they all stop and rush to help her.

Draco- "Are you ok" he frantically asks as he helps her back up.

Rose clutches her head and looks like she was about to pass out.

Hermione-"Rose do you need an ambulance you look pale" she points out.

Harry- "Yeah"

"No, no I am fine just a headache." Rose defends.

Ron- "If you say so"

They headed to the department of mysteries and finds a locked box on the lid of the box was the four houses of Hogwarts engraved on it. Rose carefully lifts the lid revealing the empty box as evidence that the time turner has been stolen. Draco knows exactly what to do, and quickly does a small investigation over the area since he has worked as a CSI agent before, Draco comes back minutes later with no news saying the criminal did not leave any evidence.

Draco- "But the coat of arms on the lid of the box could mean something, maybe we should go to Hogwarts."

Rose- "I agree since most of the students went home for Christmas break the castle is pretty empty"

A small smile creeps up Harry's lips remembering how much fun he had at Hogwarts and Harry's got to admit it was "home" to him when he was a young wizard and it will always be home to him.

Ron- "Well to Hogwarts it is"

Even though with the thought of danger crawling back into Harry's life his thoughts are easily taken away as they reach platform  9 and 3/4. Both Hermione and Rose's eyes prick with tears as the Hogwarts express pulls to a stop at exactly 11:00 am never late and never early. They all board the train and find themselves a compartment to share. Just as Harry sits down beside the window a chocolate frog appears and leaps into Harry's hands. Harry and Ron gasp at the sight.

Harry-"It's the chocolate frog I lost back in the first year."

The girls roll their eyes, while Harry and Ron break down in a fit of laughter. For the rest of the ride, they spend most of their time stuffing their mouths with candy and laughing just as if they were 11 again. Draco and Rose go off and start talking about how they first met on the train.

"I remember many years ago a certain blonde that I thought was cute was also a huge git." Rose jokingly says.

"Haha, very funny," Draco says sarcastically.

"And I thought that you were absolutely out of your mind for calling me that I remember I got so offended".

"But little did we know that conversation led to us seeing each other in a new way," says Rose as she rests her head on Draco's shoulder.

"You got that right" Draco chuckles.

Rose ends up falling asleep on Draco's lap while he reads a fanfiction that he bought a while ago called "Not enough time" in silence. As the train reaches a stop Draco gently shakes Rose awake they gather all their belongings and step off the train. Just as they were heading to the carriages Harry gets a phone call from Luna.

Harry- "It's Luna I have to take this."

Luna- "Hi Harry I was wondering if you needed me to watch the children for the night they have been begging for a sleepover".

"Oh absolutely I was actually going to ask you I think we will be back tomorrow at exactly 11:00 am," Harry says "Ohhh I see so you took the Hogwarts express" Luna realizes

Harry- "Yup"

Luna- "Ok we'll have fun"

Harry- "Thanks!"

*Harry and Luna both hang up*

Harry remembers what he is actually here to do and his smile turns to a bit of a frown he starts biting his nail and Rose seems to notice.

"Harry everything alright?" Rose asks slightly concerned.

"Yeah' Harry lies.

They pair off into carriages since the lake freezes over allowing them to take the carriages. As Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry came into view the same look fills each of their faces.
