Adonis's Pov
Since it was Saturday, I rearranged my schedule so that I could spend time with Eli. At first my subordinates didn't like it, but one glare from me made it clear that I would be taking time off.
Nothing came in between me and Eli.
"Where do you want to go?" I said, looking in the rearview mirror to see his response.
"Paw Patrol movie!" He yelled excitedly. I chuckled. Of course that's what he wanted to see.
"Okay then. Whatever you want, Eli."
I drove to the movie theater, taking note of my speed and surroundings. I may do dirty business, but I did occasionally like to follow the rules of the road.
When we finally got to the movie theater, I stepped out of the car and took Eli out of his car seat. He started excitedly jumping up and down while smiling.
Fuck, I thought. My kid is so cute.
We entered the movie building, and I quickly paid for our tickets and bought drinks and popcorn. I ushered Eli inside the movie theatre and sat down in one of the seats. Eli sat beside me and bobbed up and down excitedly.
After he situated himself, I handed him his popcorn and drinks. We had picked the right time to go to the movie theater, because we managed to skip through the commercials and get right to the point. As we watched the movie, I kept looking back between Eli and the screen.
Sometimes I'm glad for all the trouble that his mother caused me.
If not for that, Eli, the brightest light of my life, wouldn't be here.
Soon, the movie ended, and I smiled at the look of awe on his face.
"Did you like it?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"YEAH! IT WAS AWESOME!"
"Good. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Now please clean up."
Eli nodded, and grabbed his empty food containers. I smiled to myself. This boy was so kind and sweet it was hard to believe I was his father at times.
When we left the movie theatre, the sun was high in the sky.
"Do you want to buy something before we go home?"
"No! Daddy cook!"
I laughed. "Alright, I'll see what I can do. Let's make a quick stop at the grocery store then, okay?"
"Okay daddy!" Eli chirped.
I got him settled into his car seat, and then we set out.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I decided to park my car near the end of the store. Eli and I had been sitting around for a while, so it would be good for us to get a little walking done. We head inside, hand-in-hand.
I make a beeline towards the vegetable produce. I'd been meaning to incorporate more greens in Eli's diet. Especially in ways he was unaware of, because like most kids his age, he hated vegetables.
"Daddy? What that?" Eli asked, as I grabbed some broccoli.
"Something that'll make you big and strong," I replied.
"Like daddy?"
"Like daddy."
The rest of the grocery store trip was pretty standard. I decided to make mac n cheese (Eli's favorite), and bought the ingredients to do so. Eli also found a pair of Paw Patrol slippers that he really liked, so I got those as well.
It wasn't until we were getting ready to check out that something happened.
"Daddy, daddy, look! Zara!" Eli pointed.
I swiveled my head in the direction of his finger, and sure enough, there was Zara, wearing all black attire. She looked as gorgeous as ever, but I hadn't forgotten about that nasty attitude.
"Yeah, I see her," I mumbled, trying to lightly tug on Eli's arm so we could finish our check out.
"Wanna say hi!" Eli said, trying to pull his arm away. I took a deep breath and sighed. Eli looked up at me and did his usual puppy eyes, the ones that got me to listen to his every whine.
"Fine," I said in a defeated tone. "Go and come right back." However, by the time he crossed the check-out lanes and got to Zara, I noticed the girl was trying to smuggle something into her jacket. I couldn't make out what it was from afar, but from where I was standing I saw that she was in the packaged produce section.
I blinked. She was doing pretty well for a daycare teacher. If it wasn't for the fact that my eyes were trained to see things like this, she would have gotten away with it.
Weird, I thought. Does she do this often?
I watched as Eli approached her. Instead of his usual shy act, he smiled up at her and raised his arms for a hug. Meanwhile, I finished checking out our groceries and made my way towards them.
"Hungry?" I smirked at her knowingly.
"Very." She said with a tight smile on her lips. "Eli here says he just saw the new Paw Patrol movie," she said, quickly changing the subject.
"Mmm." I answered back.
We all walked towards the exit, with Eli filling in the silence between us, while gripping her hand.
I leaned down to whisper into her ear. "You're really not going to pay for that, huh? Did daddy cancel allowance?"
She turned her head with a smile plastered on her face. She wrapped her dainty fingers around my tie and pulled me close. I felt heat rush down to my crotch as she whispered. "I don't know, did he?" She winked before she went down to hug Eli goodbye, leaving me standing there like a fool.
My face bloomed red as I watched her walk off. Did I really just go hard from that?
I snapped out of my daze when I felt Eli tug my hand. "Daddy, let's go."
I nodded, and we went back to the car. Eli was no doubt thinking about the mac n cheese that would soon be sitting in his belly, but me?
I was thinking about how good her skin would feel against mine.
