Many questions sprouted up after the disease started.
Jef sat in his dark room, it was midnight and he was still awake, mind buzzing with thoughts. Those thoughts were of questions he'd never brought up before. He wanted to know the reason for his suffering, the reason for his and Nightmares broken family, the reason his real kin had abandoned him, the reason for his strange connection to nature, the reason he still sees those dark figures in the corner of his eye even after those past years. Why?
The brunette heard quiet snoring besides him, there lay his lover, the one he was dragging down with him. What pity he felt, if only he could just disappear and let them heal, yet that would only cause more hurt to them. Jef knew that in deepest part of his mind, behind all of the anxiety and sadness. That little spark of hope and knowledge the brunette still held.
Even against all odds you'd think that maybe there would be a speck of hatred, but Jef never loathed anyone or thing. No, he didn't despise his and Nightmares parents, Jef knew they had taken him in and he should be grateful. No, he didn't hate the flowers that tortured him, the brunette could hear their faint whispers of apologies. How odd.
But you cannot always win the battle with sleep and sooner or later it will take over your body.
"Mom, where are you going?"
"Sweetheart, Mommy has to take care of the forest again, stay here, stay safe. For me please."
"Ok! I'll stay put, I don't like seeing that wendigo anyways."
"Thank you dear, but remember the wendigo is a friend not an enemy."
"Alright, bye Mom."

Jef eyes blink slowly awake. What a strange dream, it wasn't cruel but it held meaning. Never the less he quietly got out of bed. Jef wanted to do something for nice Good and making breakfast seems like the perfect opportunity to do so. He started mixing the batter together and heating up the stove, blueberry pancakes were the meal. The brunette knew how much Good loved blueberries and it was a little treat for him. The aroma soon dragged said demon to the kitchen. The table was set with different toppings and food items. His plate soon arrived and Good gave Jef a small smile and a peck on the cheek. A slight blush rose to Jef's face as he let a giggle. Little moments like these were meant to be cherished no matter how insignificant they seemed.
