The ghost had left us alone for a bit. I could finally focus on Jessie. I shot up a text to her when I woke up.
Me: Hey Jessie. You goin' to school today?
Jessie: Hey Zacky! No, I decided I needed a day off, you?:)
Me: Same, wanna catch up and get something to eat for breakfast?
Jessie: Sure! Meet you in 30?
Me: Sounds good.
"Hey Zacky." Syn says as I get up.
"Hey Syn. I'm gonna go get ready, gotta meet up with Jessie for a project for art." I said. Surprisingly he believed me.
"I'm gonna head to school. You comin' later?" He asked.
"No, I need a break." I said.
Syn nodded as he walked out the door.
I got my best outfit and slicked my hair back showing my blue eyes.
Jessie: I'm here. You coming?
Me: Yes ma'am. I'm here now.
Jessie: I see you handsome!
I walked over to her and unexpectedly got a hug from her.
"You look very beautiful, Jessie." I said, sitting down.
"Thank you, there's actually something I have to tell you." She said.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Zacky, I've liked you for so long, I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way." She said. I could see how nervous she is. She's cute when she's nervous.
"Jessie, of course I like you back." I said.
Then, it happened. We both leaned in for a kiss and smiled after.
"Should I tell the guys?" I asked.
"I have a much better idea." She said.
We walked back to Matt's house after hours of hanging out so we could see the gang after school.
"Umm what am I seeing?" Jimmy asked as we walked in the door holding hands.
"It's official." I said, smiling.
"Congrats dude." Matt said.
I sat down with Jessie on the sofa. Then I smell something. Smoke?
"Guys, you smell that?" I asked.
"Yeah. Can you check it out Zacky?" Matt asked.
"Sure." I said.
I go into the kitchen by the front door and see fire. Almost everywhere. I see everyone already outside. I try to get to the front door but I keep getting pulled back.
"Leave me alone!" I shouted, in tears.
I kept getting pulled back and finally make it almost to the door when suddenly I'm pushed to the ground and I feel a pain in my ankle.
"Fuck!" I shouted.
I finally got to open the door and tumbled out of there.
"Zacky! For fuck sakes are you okay?" Matt asked running fast towards me.
"Get me out of here! Leave me alone!" I shouted, still paranoid.
"Get him to the hospital!" Jessie shouted.
I faint out and then 30 minutes later wake up in a hospital bed.
