It was December 30th, 2020. I was planning on asking Jessie to marry me, I got the ring and everything.
"So, what cha' plan on doin' with Jessie?" Matt asked me.
"I'm gonna propose." I said.
"No shit! For real?" He asked, surprised.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with her." I said.
"Of course, ya got the ring already?" He asked.
"Sure do." I said, pulling a little box out of my coat pocket.
It was a nice diamond ring, nothing too fancy.
"She's gonna love that bro." Matt said.
"I sure hope so." I said, clearly nervous.
I got back home just in time before Jessie got home from Nikki's. Nikki had lived here too, she was a few minutes away.
I hid the ring in a safe place to where she'll never see it.
"I'm home!" Jessie says, walking in.
"Finally." I said, giving her a kiss.
"What cha' up to?" She asked.
"Just gettin' ready for the New Year." I said.
"I'm glad to spend it with you." She said.
She gave me another kiss.
We had hung out most of the day.
It reached 10:00 PM, I was preparing to propose when it strikes midnight.
We met up at the park with Matt and the gang.
We all hung out until 11:58. It was go time.
Right when it struck midnight... I got on my knee.
"Jessie." I said.
She turned around, hand over her mouth.
"We've been together for 3 years, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I said.
She started crying.
"Jessie, will you marry me?" I asked.
"Yes. Yes." She said, still crying.
I got up and kissed her.
Everyone clapped and cheered.
January 1st, 2021. My birthday was gonna be our wedding. I know it's only a few days after, but we just couldn't wait.
Within the few days we got everything prepared.
Then the day came. Our wedding.
~The day after the wedding.~
I can't believe Jessie is now Jessie Bakers. My wife.
"Good morning Mr. Baker." She said, smiling.
"Good morning Mrs. Baker." I said, also smiling.
I gave her a kiss. Here's to marrying the love of my life after what we've been through. Here's to Avenged Sevenfold.
