"Thank you," I mutter quietly, staring into the blazing flames of the fire.
"No, thank you," he answers sweetly, squeezing my waist lightly, nuzzling his face in my hair.
What I wanted to tell him at that moment would've spewed so easily from my mouth then, but I knew it wasn't exactly my place to say it to him. He still had his fiance, and we still had separate lives apart from the day we've had today. That didn't mean I was going to lie about my feelings however, as you can't help love, can you? Even if its with someone you could never have, or could you?

<3rd Person Perspective>
Waking up to the sound of rustling and smell of a long died-out fire, Y/N sits up with a yawn. Taking her time in fully awakening, she rubs the sleep out of her eyes and looks around, finding Cal half-bare, his dress pants and shoes back on but lacking a top of any sort, and looking out a window. Wrapping a towel around her body, she tiptoes behind him, wrapping her arms around his waste from behind as she reaches the proper proximity.
With a hushed and breathy giggle, Cal makes no attempt in turning to the person holding him captive, knowing who it is by now. "Good morning, Dear."
Smiling at the nickname used just a few hours ago, Y/N leaves a trail of kisses from the center of his spine and upwards, "And to you, Darling."
The sun, from the view outside the window, has just begun to peak from the dark blue cloak of the ocean. It had to of only been about 4 hours of sleep for Y/N, most definitely less for Cal, but they wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Shifting slightly, Cal envelopes her smaller form into his, kissing the top of her head, and upon her lifting her eyes to gaze into his eyes, he leaves a lingering kiss to her lips as well. The heat of the passion begins to build as they refuse to let go of one another, Cal's hands moving to remove the minuscule towel hiding her body from him. Hands wandering warm skin, Y/N moans in need once more. It was almost an unspoken agreement, their minds constantly working with one another, as they both groan in dissatisfaction and want.
The moment, coming to an abrupt end, gets interrupted by banging on doors. Jolting back, the pair train their eyes to the source of the noise, finding that they'd still left the doors barricaded for privacy during their mini escapades. Hurrying to finish dressing, Cal helps Y/N back into the slightly stretched and wrinkled dress he'd hung from the banister in front of the fire, drying it for her carefully.
Taking her hand, on instinct now, he motions for her to be quiet with a finger to his lips. Nodding with a devious smirk, the couple move to the other side of the room, opposite of the banging and commotion, and sneak out of one of the other sets of doors. Now walking down the hall, they let out a series of laughs as they are able to flee the scene, hearing the faint smashing of the furniture being thrown away from the doors protecting the secret that was kept the night before.
Being led back to the Grand Staircase, Cal lets go of Y/N's hand, distancing himself from her as they near the end of their adventure. Almost in disappointment and a tinge of sadness, Y/N almost goes to grab his hand again. That was, until she realized just who she truly was in his life. Saving the dwelling for another time, she walks beside him quietly, avoiding his gaze even as he side eyes her secretly.
At the top of the staircase now, Y/N looks down the flights of stairs, then takes a saddened breath in as she faces him. Her love; even if they'd just known each other for a day. "Thank you. It's been a very pleasant time with you, and now I bid you ado, gentleman."
