Kaden's POV

Finally! Today's the day. I'm becoming the new Alpha. 

You have no idea how long I've waited for this day!!

Uhmm... approximately eighteen years if I'm not wrong. My wolf muttered.

Shut up, Parsley.

ITS SAGE YOU DICKHEAD!!

Whatever.

I'm warning you Kaden, if you dare to call me another dumbass herb name, I'm gonna rip your throat out!! MY NAME IS S-A-G-E !!

Got it Rosemary.

Sage growled so loud my brain was rattling. I chuckled lightly.

Sage absolutely hates it when I do that. But, that just motivates me to do it again and again and again. I don't have any siblings, so I need someone to annoy. Luckily, I have a big grumpy ass wolf in my head. 

I rush down to the living room where my parents were having breakfast.

Pancakes drenched in melted butter and sliced bananas. My stomach grumbled at the smell. 

"How are you feeling Kaden ?" 

My mom asked as she placed a huge stack of pancakes in front of me. Her long wavy blonde hair was slightly darker than mine. I got her hair, her dimples and her cheeky attitude. Yep, I was definitely a mama's boy.

"Nuhwas nwo ufihfis..."

I tried replying with three pancakes stuffed in my mouth and ended up choking on maple syrup.

Dude! That's gross as hell. You're ruining my reputation!!

No!! I'm ruining OUR reputation.

YOU FU-

"Don't talk with your mouth full Kaden." 

Dad chuckled and ruffled my hair. He was a huge man and most people were terrified of him. You couldn't blame them, he was scary as hell when he used his Alpha Command. But he's a straight up softie when it comes to kids and ponies. Strangely, the guy was fricking obsessed with ponies.

"I said, I'm nervous."

"Don't worry sweetie, it's normal to be stressed. You should have seen your dad, he almost pissed his pants during the ceremony."

"MIRANDA! I DID NOT PISS MYSELF!!"

My dad fake screamed, pretending to be offended. His brown hair was sticking in different directions and the overall effect was hilarious. I snorted.

"I didn't say you pissed yourself, I said almost. Stop being so dramatic David."

Dad pouted as Mom pinched his cheeks.

Mom was a Beta from the neighbouring pack and had met Dad during the coronation ceremony. They bonded immediately and had me a year later. Though Mom was a Beta, she had Dad wrapped around her pinkie. Uncle Lucus would always tease Dad for how gullible he was.

"I'm leaving guys, bye."

Looking at their beautiful bond, I couldn't help but crave some love. Don't get me wrong, my parents love me to bits, but a mate's love was different. I wanted that.
