Me and Dee woke up with a quick knocking on the door. At some point in the night I had taken all the pillows and he had taken all the covers.

"Huuh?" I called, I'm not sure what i was trying to convey, but either way Kat opened the door.

"I have breakfast downstairs; also get dressed Jay's here."

With my face still burried in pillows I shrugged, "He's seen me in a singlet i don't think it matters."

"I don't care. Get up." She pulled my pillows out from under me with a quick 'thwip'. She more gently shook Dee "Hun, time to get up. I made waffles."

Dee got up pretty quickly, slipping on a pair of my shorts and his shirt from the day before, and a clean pair of socks.

Apparently he really liked waffles. Or was just really hungry.

He had taken my chair downstairs for me, so after slipping on a clean shirt and socks and my shoes-for fear of slipping down the stairs- I headed down, surprised at the ease I was experiencing.

Dee was already halfway done with his breakfast as I wobbly made it too the table.

"Trying to get your steps in, huh Mar?" Jay noted, a playful look on his face.

"Hardy-har. I missed PT this week so I figured it couldn't hurt."

"I'm messing with you." He shoved an unusually large bite of waffle into his mouth. "Anywaths-" swallow "- Kat and I figured we could do our own little 'PT' stuff at home."

He was talking carefully; Kat had probably not told him about what happened last night.

Dee also noticed this, and 'sneezed'- his fins flexing out as he did- and continued eating.

Kat raised an eyebrow between Jay- who was wide eyed and seemed very surprised, having jumped at the action- and Dee who was calmly scraping at the remaineder of the strawberry jam on his plate.

"Is everyone a fish now?" Jay finally asked.

"Technially, we're amphibians, so we're more like frogs. I think." Dee said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Anyways-" not taking his eyes off Dee, "my parents are out of town for the rest of the month, vacation, and thwy have a nice pool we could use to practice your ah- gill thing."

I nodded, eating my waffles in sleepy silence.

Later that day, after Dee called Beck to let him know where he was, we went over to Jay's parent house. I'd never actually been over to their house before. Everything was very colorful but faded. It smelled like old people.

The pool was really nice though. It was bigger than expected. They had a really high fence so I never really got a good look at it before, but it was nice.

As I stepped to get in the pool I felt the tingling sensation in my legs again. "Hey Dee?" I called.

"What's up?"

"Do I like-for my like- my shorts?" I couldn't peice my scentences together.

"Off." He smiled.

"Ah okay."

"Hang on." He came over to me and helped me up, taking me back into the house and into the bathroom. "I'm sure you don't feel comfortable being naked around your aunt and her boyfriend."

"Pfft, hell no." I laughed. I chose to watch this time, with Dee holding my hand.

My legs seemed to attatch together, melding quickly, from the base of my the fluke seemed to sprout. It was like watching a time lapse of a seed become a sprout, and the whole process only took about a minute.
