Izuku ran in search of Kacchan. As soon as he heard the villains are planning to recruit his childhood friend, he rushed out of there and followed the route. Todoroki and Kacchan went in second, so if they haven’t gotten back to camp yet then it means that they are still around-

“Shoji!? What happened!?” He was cut off by some sort of limb plunging in front of his path. It would’ve hit him if Shoji didn’t catch him, he noticed his friend’s bleeding and tired state. He quickly dropped from the arms.

“You’re looking for Bakugou right?” Shoji breathe out heavily, he’s been holding up for so long after his pair ran away from that villain. But the creepy laughter from the forest finally stopped.

“That thing just now….” He inspected Shoji’s bleeding wound, trying to think of some way to stop it “Wait… don’t tell me….” Considering the shape that seemingly blended into the dark area, he widened his eyes.

“Yeah… if we want to get through here. We’ll have to face Dark shadow first.” He replied, then the two both look up to Tokoyami who was trying in futility to control his raging quirk, which only grew larger for it was dark.

“S- stay away from- me…” Bird boy managed to say through gritted teeth(?), his own quirk was working against him, and is only growing stronger by the second. Dark shadow’s high pitched screech was ringing through. “You’ll die!”

“But how did he get this way!?” Shoji moved them behind a tree, away from the quirk’s raging path.

“Mandalay informed us what was happening and told us not to engage, we were both on high alert. Still one of the villains had to drop on us.” Shoji recalled back when those things cut one of his limbs of. “I headed for the bushes and tried to cover for Tokoyami, even though one of my arms were cut off.” He could create new duplicated limbs out of duplicated branches like a tree so it was fine, he isn’t losing that hand forever. “It looks bad, but it’ll grow back.”
“The thing is, he couldn’t see me injured like that. the quirk he’s been suppressing began to rage and take over.”

“The darker it is the less control Tokoyami has, I had no idea his quirk could explode like this…” Midoriya muttered the last part, he’ll definitely be adding this to his notes after this ends. Moreover, they have to figure out how to get out of here.

“It’s probably fueled by his righteous indignation and regret. He’s trying to hold it back, but they made him wild.” Shoji… my man, it’s not that deep.

“Forget about me…! Go! Other classmates… Help them instead!” Tokoyami warned, telling his friends once gain to run away. But guess what Midoriya decides to do this time? Not that, the last times were Thunderstorm’s orders and it all turned out for the better good, but Boboiboy isn’t here right now. And what he was facing isn’t a villain but a friend.

“His quirk has a weakness to light, if we can lead them to a fire back at camp. We can contain it.” Shoji devised a way for them to get out of this dilemma. He isn’t sure how to do it, but it was the most logical option. “Midoriya, I know these are strange circumstances. But I can’t leave him suffering like this. You’re here for Bakugou, if you still want to save him. I’ll distract Dark shadow for you.” He whispered, trying to not alert the quirk.

“Hold on, the fire and camp are both far away. You’ll be in danger if-” His last phrase was slightly loud, making Dark Shadow direct its sight on the tree. And quickly strike it, fortunately Shoji pulled him away again.
