"Ne?"
When there's no answer, Go Ami looks back at Suga.
He's watching her, pen rhythmically tapping the table. His mouth tightens for a brief moment before he smooths it back into a placid smile.
"I asked if you have an album for me to sign?"
Ami blinks, brows knitting. Sign? She glances down the table.
Six other men sit on the same side of the table as him, each chatting with their own fan. Her eyes scan each of them before coming to a rest on the one named Jung Hoseok, or Jhope according to the placard in front of him. He's sitting right next to Suga, his dark eyes alight with humor at whatever the very young girl he's talking with just said. Still chuckling, he bends down and starts scribbling on a picture of himself.
"Ah, ne. Right. I'm afraid I forgot my picture at home," she replies, smiling innocently as she turns back to Suga. He hides an eye roll admirably. Ami hides her smirk even better. "Too excited."
"Clearly," he says, leaning back in his chair. "So how about I sign your shirt?"
Surprised, Ami glances down at herself. She bought it in Taipei just this morning. It had turned out to be an excellently convenient purchase when she'd been called to Seoul almost within the hour. It's a lovely shirt, simple, elegant, and perfectly fitted even without a tailor. And it hadn't wrinkled at all during the two and a half hour flight.
"Do you know how expensive this is," she asks, eyeing him suspiciously.
He scoffs and leans forward. "It'll be worth more after I sign it."
Ami laughs, clearing her throat quickly to silence it. His smirk turns into a smile as he holds out his hand for her sleeve expectantly.
"Alright," she says, twisting the shirt up over her head.
His eyebrows disappear behind his black hair, mouth slightly popping. Even though she's wearing a perfectly modest undershirt, the crowded room falls quite in shock, only a few scandalized gasps punctuating the silence. Ami doesn't look, but she's sure everyone's watching.
"Sign here, Seonsaegnim," she says to his stunned face. "Because you're being a real pain in the..."
She pats the bottom backside of the shirt, smiling sweetly.
A boisterous, almost helicopter laugh explodes from Jung Hoseok, making the girl he was talking to jump. Ami shoots her a smirk of solidarity, but the girl is too busy pouting to notice.
"Hyung," Hoseok says, grinning broadly. He throws an arm around Suga, giving him a mostly gentle shake. "I didn't know you took on a student!"
"I didn't-"
"He wasn't aware, either," Ami says, cutting him off. She offers her hand to Hoseok. He hesitates for one second before taking it, barely concealing a grin. "But I'm always ready to learn at the feet of a real master. I'm Go Ami."
"Suga Hyung will take good care of you, Go Ami."
"You sing," Suga asks, eyeing her. Ami shrugs. She'd actually been referencing his quick sarcasm, but whatever. "Then sing."
"Ne?"
"You call me Seonsaegnim. I don't take just anyone on as a student." He leans back in his chair, gesturing imperiously for her to proceed. "So show me what you've got."
Ami cocks her head, allowing herself a quick glance at Hoseok. He's grinning, eyes alight with expectation. He's enjoying this way too much, although his fangirl doesn't seem to appreciate his lapse of attention.
"If you insist," Ami says.
Thankfully, she listened to a few of their songs on her flight here. One in particular stood out so she listened to it over and over, even going to the trouble of watching the music video a few times. She'll probably have to fudge a few words, but if she's learned anything since going out into the world, it's that confidence can cover a multitude of sins.
With that in mind, she clears her throat, straightens her back, and starts bouncing ever so gently to the beat in her head. When it's time for the first line, she jumps right in.
Hoseok nearly loses it when he recognises the song, slapping Suga on the back so much he has to lean away to avoid him. Suga's struggling against a smile himself, no doubt to maintain the facade of a cold-hearted teacher.
Ami grins going into the next verse, changing some of the initial lyrics to make it a little more relevant to this situation. It helps, Suga actually starting to bop his head to the beat. But when she changes he last line to sorry seonsaengnim, but your student's killing it, a smile bursts across his face. He rolls in his chair, hand covering his mouth as if in awed excitement, as Hoseok claps beside him.
Ami keeps singing, a laugh slightly tarnishing her transition into the chorus. She'd be surprised if anyone noticed, though, because at that point the entire group joins in, too. They're all smiling happily as they sing along to their own songs, singing to each other as well as the fans around them. A few of the fans join in, but even those that don't seem to enjoy the show.
They're transitioning into the final verse when something catches Ami's eye. As if waiting for something like this to happen, she leaps into action.
Jumping onto the table, Ami grabs the blade just before it can reach his face. Hoseok throws himself back, eyes wide. The girl yanks the knife and it slides out of Ami's loose fist. Ami gives Hoseok a reassuring smile before spinning around, grabbing the girl's wrist just as she's raising the knife again. Giving the girl's wrist a sharp twist, there's a crack, a pained scream, and the weapon clatters to the table. Ami rolls, dragging the girl forward and pinning her down.
"Congratulations," Ami says cheerily, turning back to Hoseok. He's against the wall now, with Suga and the other members huddled around him. "Your life is Marked."
Hoseok frowns, clearly confused, but their bodyguards swarm in and start shoving them away.
The young girl screams, drawing Ami's attention back to her. She wriggles and shrieks, but Ami's grip, as always, is unbreakable.
Security arrives, grabbing the girl. Ami takes one final glance back where Hoseok disappeared before releasing the girl into their hands.
As they drag her away, Ami stands on the table, surveying the room. Almost everyone is congested at the exit, attempting to flee the crazed girl. A security guard calls out to her, but Ami leaps from the table and darts for the busy exit. Someone shouts, but she ignores them, plowing through the crowd and disappearing back into the world outside.
