Akio Todoroki

About an hour or so after I got off the phone to the Old Man, I ended up leaving Hiro's place. He evidently didn't want me to go, and nor did I particularly want to either, but I had something clawing at the back of my mind. It was whispering "homework...homework...HOMEWORK!!!" in an increasingly erratic tone.

Leon evidently didn't want me to leave either, having spent most of his time recently curled up against my bare chest. He was the cutest little fur ball ever, and had plonked his little derrière right by the door, unwavering in his attempts to stop me going. I gave him a little rub behind the ears and he immediately rolled over in delight, but failed to realise that his defences had been breached, allowing me to leave. The last thing I heard was a pitiful meow as I made my way down the never ending stairs.

Considering it's the middle of the day, it astounds me that it's still this fucking cold. I know it's the middle of November, but Jesus, my toes are curling up as I walk through the icy wind. Fortunately there's been no snow yet, but it feels like it'll be any day now, and that's not a good thing. Snow and me have always disliked each other, ever since my 9th birthday. It had snowed that morning, which meant the theme park I was meant to be going to didn't open. Fuck the snow, it ruins everything. I have all the decorum of a drunk sea lion when walking on anything remotely slippery, so the lack of ice was also a blessing. As much as I love Hiro, he's going to have to carry me home if it's icy.

Hiro is...just amazing, isn't he? I almost can't believe that we had a pretty serious argument on Friday, it feels like that's been totally forgotten. Like a bad movie where the director forgot that that scene made the cut. It's been swept away by the evident passion he has for me, and that goes both ways. I felt so honoured yesterday to be treated to such a private encounter, and want to return the favour as soon as possible with a dinner with my parents. Obviously it'll be awkward, and obviously I'll hate every second of it, but it's a key step in our relationship, so as far as I'm concerned, it has to happen. It's just a matter of when, really. I guess since my classes end early on a Tuesday, we could do it then, but I'll have to check with everybody's schedules.

...which I suppose isn't much of a hassle since I can literally just walk through the front door and say "hey, are you busy Tuesday night?"

Thus, I walked through the front door, and said "hey, are you busy Tuesday night?"

They aren't, so that's good. Since both of them know why I've asked, there's a strong possibility that they were busy Tuesday night, but have plans that could easily be sacrificed.

"Ask your friend what he wants me to make, I'll whip something up" the Old Man said, only to be cut off by Dad, who said "don't be ridiculous Kat, you couldn't cook if your life depended on it! I'll make something"

The Old Man looked pretty grumpy about this, but in the end, he'd been checkmated, so quietened down.

"I don't think Hiro will answer that with anything except "I don't mind""

"...ok, let's go at it another way. What do you want?"

"...your fajitas are pretty good I guess"

"Fajitas it is. I'll get some stuff this afternoon, you check with him that that's ok?"

"Will do"

I fired over a quick message confirming the date, time, and meal to Hiro, and he responded pretty quickly, saying "no problems with that, fajitas are to die for <3"

Just after Dad left to get the necessary ingredients, I was about to head up to start on this dreaded homework exercise, when I heard the Old Man call out to me.

"Hey, kiddo"

"Yeah?"

"This Hiro...he's your boyfriend, isn't he?"

"...yeah, he is"

"Huh...did something happen with Kei and Ryo? I know it's been a few days since we spoke about it, but I didn't expect anything to change in such a short time"

"Yeah...um, basically a few things happened that told me that there wasn't a chance for me with either of them, and Hiro was there to help get me through it. He's really sweet, I think you'll really like him"

"I'm sure if you do, we will"

"Right, if you're done making me nauseous, I've got shit to do"

"Ha, your Uncle Denki said that exact thing to me once"

Yup, sounds like Uncle Denki...

"Oh, speaking of which...how about we invite him and Toshi over then? It's been weeks since we all had dinner, plus I want someone to watch over your father in the kitchen. Lord knows he tries, but he's hardly Michelin star-worthy"

"That's...a very good point. You can invite them, I've got work to be doing"

"All good, see ya kiddo"

I didn't answer, just went up the stairs and pulled out my book. This stupid thing felt heavier and heavier every time I wrote more in it, and this stupid homework assignment would only make it worse.

Inverse Matrices...here goes nothing!
————————————————————-

Inverse Matrices are pretty weird, and obnoxiously long to figure out (especially a 3x3 Inverse 😔)

Fact of the Day: Leon is the MVP of this fic, and I take no criticism on this statement.

(Although I kinda keep forgetting he exists-)
