YOU WANTED TO ask keiji who bokuto was, but you decided against it. you didn't have his number for this nonsense, it was only for volleyball.

at least that's what you thought until he texted you first.

hello [last name]

hello [last name].
i was wondering if keiko
made it? she won't
stop asking me 😅

you chuckled at his text. causing chiyo to perk up.

she did make
it actually!
i was just
going to text you.

keiji felt happier now that he knew his daughter made it. she never even asked him, he just wanted to know himself.

it was also an excuse to text you, he would never admit it to himself or to others. he'd just met you for one, and two he couldn't like his daughters coach. that could've gotten you in trouble.

he sighed. he wanted to call bokuto for help about his feelings although something told him the man didn't know either.

he just decided against it and wanted to get you off of his mind. he was supposed to be working right now, not being distracted on his cellular device.

he sighed again and began to sketch out the characters to get you off of his mind.

he already wanted to know more about you. it was everything about you ever since he saw you looking at him and his daughter practice volleyball.

you sighed listening to chiyo tease you about keiji. she was laughing at you because you chuckled at his text, like a highschool girl.

chiyo
"[first name] stop being
so embarrassed! it's cute
seeing you fall for a
cute dad!"

you side-eyed her. 'well maybe if you stopped teasing me i wouldn't be so embarrassed chiyo."

she looked at you with a shit eating grin. she knew exactly what you were thinking right now.

you
"you're acting like
you don't like keiko's
god father! who could
possibly have
kids of his own."

she rolled her eyes at your comeback.

chiyo
"bokuto doesn't have
kids! he can have
mines though."

you just stared at her before finishing building the team. she laughed at you ignoring her, it was so cute to her that you thought you had her with that statement.

you
"maybe you shouldn't
be here right now chiyo.
i can finish setting the
team up alone, you do
need your granny
sleep anyway."

she glared at you with a wide mouth.

chiyo
"one year isn't a big
difference! if i'm a
granny so
are you."

you
"hmm. i'd disagree,
you're already making
tea outside naturally.
that's granny
shit chiyo."

chiyo
"it is not! tea just tastes
better when made
naturally outside!"

you scoffed,

you
"yeah right! waiting
until the sun is down
to drink a small cup
of tea isn't
worth it, granny."

chiyo
"oh shut up! it
totally is. the
tea is just so
much fresher
that way."

you shook your head and emailed the rest of the parents telling them whether their children made it or didn't. some of the parents even tried arguing with you about it, which didn't make sense if you told them exactly why their child didn't make the team.

you were beginning to get frustrated as the parent wouldn't get off of your back. their child could hardly pass the ball today, whether they were nervous or not.

they had to do something to make it into the final fifteen but they had to be able to do more than one thing. otherwise it wasnt fair.

they're allowed to be strong in something certain, but the kid couldn't receive, or block. the parent had no business arguing with you about it.

after the small distraction, you started to think about another distraction. when the first and other practices after that would end. you only gave parents a beginning time.

you felt like the stupidest bitch alive right now.
