Alice's POV I walked through the halls of this axiom chruch that the pontifex told everyone that they were summoned from the heavens. It's a lie. They were all stolen from their homes.
I only reached to the 90th floor, I think Eugeo and Asuna are behind me but assuming that we went different ways. Probably different paths.
I have stopped to just reminiscing this place. I know it is a bad time but who knows this might be the last place I walk before I am arrested once again or maybe exiled. Who knows what would happen if an intergity knight has broken the rules. That repulsive clown is not alive anymore so no punishments of that being frozen.
"Alice?" I turned around and I had my sword out, aiming at the person who called my name. "Eydis?! What are you- I mean why are you here? Are you going to take a bath?" I tried to act as if I wasn't gone for just the entire day.
"Alice, where were you? And what's with the eyepatch?" I blinked then I touched my right eye. "For being injured in battle!", of course Eydis would be suspicious. "Please don't question why I been gone for a day, I have my reasons but don't report this to uncle or others." I asked, begging for her to not report me that I been missing. "I see, don't worry though. I won't tell!" Eydis gave me her smile. "But Alice, you missed something." Eydis said and my smile dropped.
"What is it?"
"You have missed welcoming a new.. Knight to our ranks. They were summoned from the heavens but they are a gifted one since they have resolved their sins with lady Pontifex."
"Who?..."
"Hm.. It's that criminal you brought in. Who was it?"
"Wait. Is it him?.." I am slowly getting tensed up.
"Yes yes! Kirito synthesis 33!"
My entire world just dropped right after she said that.
I knew Quinella is lying to me.
What was making me not take action?
Did he change at all?
Kirito, if you did change. Please don't harm Eugeo. He's been dying of worry since you were missing.
Eugeo's POV
"... Kirito? Is that you?" I slowly backed away from him as he seem completely emotionless. He stood there, quiet. His eyes, they look empty. There is no life in him at all. My eyes were in disbelief. Is this really Kirito I'm seeing? Or..
There is no time to think, suddenly Kirito dashed towards me and, raising his sword up in the air. Is he doing a sword skill rage spike?! I blocked his upcoming attack with my sword. "Kirito wait! It's me Eugeo! Don't you remember me?!" I backed away as I didn't want to harm him, I need to try and think about his-
Kirito appeared right behind me as I ducked and I bend down, doing a roundhouse kick as I kick Kirito's shin which he started to loose balance. He had his hand out in front of me. It all went too fast in my mind, the green orbs aiming so close to my face and I tried to interrupt his casting by using my hilt of the blue rose sword to hit his wrist but it was a futile attempt.
"Burst element." The gust of wind pushed me as I hit my back against the wall. I grunted as I fall to the floor. Kirito is slowly approaching to me as I try to stand up, my legs are wobbly from his sacred arts attack. "You are a criminal that has broken the law and disrupted peace of the axiom church. More to be added that you are an intruder. After the pontifex let you leave freely, I shall dispose of you." His voice is completely filled with no emotions.. He sounded completely toneless.
I look up at him, "Then who convinced your "pontifex" to let me leave then?!" Kirito is still unfazed by my response as I gripped onto my sword. I used a sword skill Slant as my blue rose sword is starting to glow blue then I hit it against Kirito's chest plate which made an impact, pushing Kirito away from me. He is looking down on the red carpet floor, inhaling and exhaled. "... It was the pontifex. Stop making lies that it's already giving me a damn headache.." It better give you a headache because I need you to WAKE UP!
I charged towards him as I aimed my sword to do a downward strike. Kirito looked back up and his night sky sword blocked my attack as we exchanged eye contact between us. "You already knew Quinella is the person who makes people forget everything in their life! EVERYTHING! Why are you doing this?!" I shouted, my attempt to try and get to him but he still is unfazed.
"System call. Generate luminous element, Burst element!" I backed away as I have released an sacred arts blinding Kirito. I don't want to run away but I also don't want to get caught and be sent to the underground prison.
I can probably try to knock him out. I tried to move quietly to find Kirito in this blinding light. I need to move quickly and I held my sword tightly just in case he comes up behind me.
The sacred arts spell slowly became translucent, I'm running out of time.
I heard someone came up behind me and I turned around. It was arrows, they were thermal sacred arts. I casted back, "System call! Generate cryogenic element, form element, bird shaped. Counter thermal object! Discharge!" As birds were summoned to counter the thermal arrows and they vaporized. I panted heavily and looked around to see any sign of Kirito.
I felt a sudden hit to my head, My eyes got a clear view of who did it.
".... K-Kirito.." I tried calling out his name but my voice is inaudible to hear and I closed my eyes.
