What's a soulmate?

It's uh...well, it's like a best friend but more

It's the one person in the world that knows you better than you know yourself

Someone who makes you a better person

Actually, they don't make you a better person

Because they inspire you

It was a dismal night in Mystic Falls, Virginia. Vampire Kat had just shown her face after pulling puppet strings for almost a year. She and Damon now faced each other on the floor.

"Kiss me or kill me. Which will it be, Damon? We both know you're only capable of one."

He held her to the floor, pinned there for a few more moments, before he began to kiss her. Then they blurred to a wall, starting to go for it, but he called a time out. When he did, he asked her to give him the truth about her feelings for him, so she broke his heart, knowing it would possibly make him hate her, but believing it to be the only way for her to be sure that Klaus wouldn't kill him when he came to town. She didn't think she could live through the death of her favorite Salvatore. He was her greatest creation, but also her love next to Elijah.

A soulmate is someone that you carry with you

It's the one person who knew and accepted you before anyone else did

Or when no one else would

And no matter what happens, you'll always love them, and nothing can ever change that

It was a dark night, as human Damon ran through the woods, chasing after her, a torch in hand to light his path. He knew what she was now, but he wasn't afraid of her. He believed that she couldn't and wouldn't hurt him, so he saw past her vampirism. Plus, they were like soulmates, both of them having a wild side.

He caught up with her and they stood with her back against a tree.

"Why must you run from me?"

"Because I know that you will chase," she replied with a smile.

"Then let me chase you forever," he answered. Then they began to kiss. And if it hadn't been for her telling him that she'd always loved Stefan, ultimately creating a monster of hate and anger, he would've done just that. But no matter what, if she or he needed help with an enemy, they'd have each other's backs.
