Not long after he'd healed her, he took her home with him, so she stayed there. And she wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon. After all, he'd promised to protect her.

However, it proved to be difficult with her enemies searching for her. And there were at least a few that were worst than the rest.

She was in the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror. Lately, she'd been realizing that something was wrong with her, but she didn't know what it was. She kept being in pain and having symptoms, but she didn't believe that something that had made her human was making her grow old. She didn't want to believe it. She just wanted a semi normal life with Damon. That was it.

Damon stood at the closed door, having realized that she'd been in the bathroom for a while now. Not wanting to barge in on her, he called through the door, "Katherine?" Then he waited for a few minutes for her to say something. After all, he knew that when she wanted something, it was best to just give it to her. When she didn't answer after a few minutes or so though, he opened the door. That's when he saw her. She was on the floor. He then rushed to and knelt by her, and that's when he saw the gray hair. He knew something was wrong with her now. "Katherine, can you hear me? Come on, Kitty Kat. Open your eyes for me," he called, a hand on the side of her face.

After a few minutes of waiting for her to wake up, he gently picked her up. He then went to his room and layed her gently down on the bed. Because of the gray hair, he assumed she was starting to grow old. He knew that couldn't be normal, when she'd just turned human not that long ago. Making that conclusion, he sat on her bedside, looking at her, as he called a certain witch for help. The only New Orleans witch he knew that was alive and possibly could save her from this. He knew rapid aging wasn't normal for a human, after all.

After a small conversation of what was going on, the witch agreed to help her, remembering her from when she had been younger. Apparently, they'd had a connection back then. Thankfully, it seemed that he didn't need to take Katherine to New Orleans, so he just stayed at her side, hoping that she'd eventually wake up, and that she'd be okay. He had faith in the witch, after all, knowing she was known for being able to do impossible things. He didn't want to lose Katherine. He'd lost her so many times in different ways. He didn't think he could just watch her die. She didn't deserve that.

He rested a hand on hers.

"You're going to be okay, Katherine. I'm not letting anything happen to you," he told her, though he knew he couldn't promise anything. He knew that no one was promised to live through to the next day. Especially, when it was Katherine. It seemed that time was starting to catch up with her, and he didn't like that. But time was something only a witch could reverse.

A while later, after Davina reversed and stopped the aging, she began to wake up, which relieved him. Knowing that, he knew that she would be okay. She'd live.

He gave a smile, glad that he wasn't going to have to watch her die anytime soon.
