Goodbye

He woke up on the couch with a thick blanket wrapped around him, he slightly questioned it but just ignored it. He looked to the kitchen and saw his dad, he was making breakfast. Memories of how bad his breakfasts were when he got it wrong played in his head, but what can you do? He got up and walked to the kitchen.

"Hi dad"

"Good morning son, hope you slept well"

"I did, why are you here?"

"Well turns out I got to get a free day from the workplace"

"Really?"

"Yes, really. Now I can spend time with my family today. I hope your brothers and sisters get to come home early"

"Me too. What are you making?"

"Oh you know, simple egg and cheese sandwiches for you and your sister. She's out playing outside"

"Ok"

Then right when his father gets back to cooking the food is set on fire. Sorens eyes widen and he scampers under the table. His eyes are shut as his father gets things to put the fire out. When the fires out his father gives at slight chuckle at what has happened.

"Sorry, guess we're not eating sandwiches this morning"

Soren slowly opens his eyes and steps out from under the table.

"It's ok dad. We'll just eat something else"

"Alright, call in your sister. I think we have some fruits here I could cut up"

"Ok"

Soren walks out and goes to the back door. He sees his sister climbing a tree. She was just sitting and watching the sky on a branch.

"Zoe!"

"What?"

"Dad says to come inside"

"Alright I'll be down in a sec"

With that Soren turns away to head inside while his sister jumped down. He holds open the door and waits for his sister to catch to up. When she was inside he closed the door. They walk into the kitchen and see pines and M.5's cut up and ready to eat. His dad is holding their baby sister while she feeds herself on some milk.

As they eat their dad talks about how hes working on getting a new house or at least fixing the one they're in now, Soren nods and Zoe continues to bring up things that are broken in the house. Dad just nods and makes mental notes of these things. When they finish Jackson walks in through the door and is supprised that their dad is there with them.

"Hi dad, why're you here?"

"Oh you know, I just got a free day. You know?"

"Yeah, it's nice to have you back here. What're you talking about?"

"Just things I need to fix in the house. Speaking of which, can you help me fix it up a bit?"

"Sorry can't, not really a physically strong kinda guy Dad, thought you knew that"

"Oh alright son, guess I'll ask your brother to help. Anyways, got any life updates with you?"

"Oh yeah, let me tell ya about it"

They proceeded to exit the kitchen and go to the living room. Soren picks up their plates and washes them in the sink, Zoe goes and takes Evangeline from their father so she can get some play time with her. After washing up, Soren goes into his room and studies.

Later Kaleb and Charlotte come home, Dad asks Kaleb for help fixing the house a bit and he agrees. Sometimes Jackson did end up helping if it was needed, which wasn't really that many times. After they got most of the important things fixed to a usable standard they decided to call it a day. Dad went and took a nap before dinner, Kaleb and Jackson went to play some video games.
