Hiccup's POV.
Jack returned with Merida and Emma by his side. The brown haired girl looked extremely similar to her brother, the only difference was Jack's white hair and icy blue eyes. Emma smiled sheepishly before retreating into her tent.
"Two sisters found her and took care of her." Jack said as he plopped down onto the ground next to me. "Where's Rapunzel?" He asked curiously.
I nodded in her direction and Jack got up again and sauntered off to find her.
"How are yer?" A strong Scottish accent sounded from behind me.
"Hello Merida." I smiled. She sat down on the grass next to me and proceeded to cross her legs. She looked down at mine and suddenly noticed the prosthetic one.
"Wha happened to Yer?" She asked, her eyes wide.
"I was attacked by a dog when I was fifteen, long story short, the wounds on my leg got infected and my leg had to be amputated because of how bad it was." I was used to telling the story by now, everyone wanted to know what when I returned back to school after the operation, I was treated like some kind of war survivor even though a rogue dog just attacked, but as more of the popular people found out, the name calling began. Rapunzel stuck up for me though. She's like my freakin guardian angel.
"Oh right, you can hardly tell eh difference, you know, when Yer walk." She babbled nervously. I glanced at her from underneath my mop of messy brown hair and smiled. Merida noticed me staring and stopped babbling, her cheeks flushed Crimson red.
"What yer staring at?" She asked shyly.
"Oh-uh n-nothing.." I mumbled nervously. I chuckled at my stupidity, Merida rose to her feet and patted my shoulder before wandering off the her tent.
~Rapunzel's POV~
I knelt by the freshwater stream and dabbled my fingers in the cool water. I cupped my hands and scooped up some of the clear liquid and proceeded to splash my face.
"Having fun princess?" I jumped up startled, little droplets of water flew everywhere.
"Jack." I said in relief.
"Punzel." He mimicked.
I smiled slightly at his nickname. Suddenly, Jack began edging closer to me until he was by my side. He stared up at the darkening sky, his blue eyes sparkled. I glanced up to see stars sprinkled across the sky.
"We found Emma." He said quietly.
"Excellent!" I chirped. Jack chuckled before wrapping an arm around my waist, he pulled my into a side embrace. I found myself snaking my arms around his torso, still admiring the stars.
"I'm on supplies duty tomorrow, do you want to tag along?" Jack asked, his voice wobbled nervously.
"Sure." I replied with a smirk. A wide grin crept onto Jack's boyish face. We stood in silence for a moment, everything was peaceful.
"Everything was normal. Everything was good. I didn't ask for this. No one ever would." Jack mumbled. I sighed sadly.
"But everything happens for a reason, Jack." I said to Jack. His eyes shifted to mine, his gaze was intense.
"Does it really, Punze?" His eyes were searching mine. I nodded, unsure of what to say. And in one quick moment, that perfect peaceful normal like moment ended.
"JIMMMMMM!!!!" Screams rippled through the trees of the woods, Jack and I jumped in fright before snapping into action.
"That's Ariel!" I yelled to him as we began to sprint through the over growth. More distressed screams sounded as we raced closer and closer. The edge of camp was in sight but suddenly everything went black.
