— the day she left
water.

two years ago- age 13.
the cold air hit senna's skin as she practiced her waterbending. yue stood and watched. she was always so fascinated with her bending.

it was beautiful.

her father, kuruk, brother of chief arnook, had been wanting her to keep up with her training. to help her get stronger and better at it.

since the fire nation could invade at any moment, she needed to be ready.

the water and her hands flowed together in sync. her eyes glued to the water.

"now." she told yue.

yue grabbed a bowl and stood a few feet away from a very concentrated senna, "i don't want the bowl to hit you, senna." she frowned, fiddling with the bowl in her hands.

"don't worry, yue. if it hits me then it hits me. it's all part of my training." senna assured her concerned cousin.

yue took a deep breath and launched the bowl right toward her cousin.

senna smirked and stopped the bowl in mid air and turned it into ice, the bowl then dropped to the ground and chattered.

yue's mouth dropped.

"how-what? you didn't even move your head?!"

senna chuckled and gathered up all the broken pieces of the bowl, "call it fast reflexes."

the two walked back to the palace, talking and laughing. smiling at villagers who pasted by them, bowing.

"it's pretty windy out today." senna pointed out, her hair flying around like crazy.

"sure is. father said it's the windiest it's ever been." yue explained, as the two stepped into the palace.

the warmth of the palace engulfed senna immediately. its always made her feel safe.

"senna, yue. how was your training?" sennas father, kuruk, asked as he approached them.

"it was good, father." senna smiled.

"it was more then good." yue said, "she stopped a bowl with her hands!" she pointed to the bowl that senna was still holding.

"that's my girl." he patted his daughter on the shoulder, grinning from ear to ear.
