"Welcome home Theseus" his ma greeted him the moment he entered through the doors of the castle. her hair was tied back into a braid today and her golden crown sat on her head she in the last six years since he's seen her hadn't changed in the slightest when it comes to appearance. and he was fine with that, he was just glad to finally be home after six long years of being tied to the overworld.
"It's good to be home" he smiled, "even with all the tiring greetings I'm glad to be back Ma" he made his way towards her as she left her throne a smile on her face as she opened her arms bringing her son into a hug. Tommy couldn't help but feel greatful for it, he's missed the feel of his ma's hugs.
"You have grown quite tall my boy" she looked him over, "you must be tired from your journey, so for now please go take a rest in your room you can tell me all about your adventure come diner". he nodded sad to leave her embrace but she was correct he was tired from his travels to the overworld to here.
He vanished from her sights, the fire around him warm before it vanished and he was left cold standing in his room. six years and it hadn't changed in the slightest but he had, he had changed. he moved his way to his bed leaning back and staring up at his ceiling, as images flashed in his sight.
The pit, his items, the pain when Dream would strike him. he laid frozen on his bed for what felt like an eternity, what the human had done to him should not had phased him. It should not have bothered him so why? why was it affecting him so badly in this moment. the human had no power over him, the human wasn't a god. the human was just somebody trying to play god and Tommy would keep telling himself this as he regulated his breathing.
"You have no power over me" he whispered to himself, his claws digging into his bedding as his blue eyes began to dance with flames. "You are not someone I should fear" he told himself as he sat up. "And you are somebody that will soon regret the things you have done to me". pushing himself off the bed the young god couldn't help the grin crossing his features. "watch your back Dream, for you cannot hide the truth from everyone forever".

Sitting up in his bed, a mask lay on the dresser. sweaty and breathing heavy the man watched the shadows dance across his room. he however froze watching as a figure moved closer to him blonde hair, red and white shirt and horrid burns over his being.
"Go away" he told the figure, as the rain outside only grew harsher. a tree branch tapped at his window as the burnt figure of the one he tried to make a puppet now stood at the foot of his bed. staring at him, mocking him, judging him. "Your dead".
"And whose fault is that?" the figure mocked him, "your the reason I died". the figures eyes burned into him. "you left me there to die, some friend you are Dream, you left me to die". they laughed. and all he could do was watch in horror as the figure burst into flames before thunder rang out and lightning flashed lighting up the dark bedroom.
And when it did the burnt figure of Tommy was gone, and Dream was left wondering. staring at the foot of his bed "it wasn't real" he told himself. his puppet was dead and he was getting a new one this wouldn't affect anything, it was just in his head. laying back down the man shut his eyes, but in that moment he felt a hand grab him.
His eyes opened and his puppet's blue eyes, dull and dead bore into his green ones. pain burned through his wrist in that moment. "I am not just a figment of your imagination Dream, take head for the ones you scorned will come to burn" and he was gone once again.
Dream's breath hitched. his wrist burned, staring through the darkness he knew this wasn't a dream. for the blistered and burned skin on his wrist told him otherwise, it was real and he was haunted. and while he was caught in his thoughts he was left unaware as something seeped through the cracks of his floorboards that night cloaked in darkness. a green goo like substance, that would soon take the shape of a person, a person who couldn't help but grin.
For this person couldn't help but await the torment he would soon be giving to the poor masked human. all for the sake of the order he had been given, an order from the ones he served and an order from his best friends.
