after-school (Ryota Suzui × Yumeko Jabami)

Ryota's POV:

We were sitting in the cafeteria, like every other day. But today, Yumeko was acting strange... Usually she would be energetic, happy, and excited for another daily challenge. It would be a lie if I said I didn't love her, it was near impossible to not get lured in. I stared over at her, she was picking at her bento box lunch. I sighed lightly "Yumeko?" She stopped playing with the food and look up. "Yes, Ryota?" She tilted her head lightly. "Is everything okay? You haven't taken a bite of your lunch." She looked down at her lunch and blinked twice before looking back up at me. "I'm fine, just a little... tiring at home." I raised an eyebrow at her."Tiring? What do you mean by that?" She smiled lightly "nothing to worry about I promise!" If there was something going on at home shouldn't her parents be taking care of that not her?

The next day
I barely slept last night. Well how could I? Yumeko worried me, all I can do is pray that whatever was going on at home was taken care of by her parents. I stepped into the classroom, Yumeko wasn't here yet. I checked the time, it was still 30 minutes before class, so it was no shock I was the only one here. I sat down and read to pass the time. Before I knew it the teacher stepped in and started the lesson, I turned to the desk behind mine which belonged to Yumeko but it was empty. "Ms, may I use the bathroom?" I said while raising my hand. The teacher sighed "sure suzui but be quick." "Understood." I left and ran into an empty stall in the boys restroom and turned on my phone
YUMEKO
RYOTA💙: Yumeko, where are you? Is everything okay?

Yumeko🎲: yes! Apologies Ryota I woke up late I just got on the train.

Ryota💙:Yumeko, are you okay? Seriously, you worried me yesterday.

Yumeko🎲:don't worry Ryota I'm just fine!

Ryota💙:okay... see you soon.

Yumeko🎲:see you!
