twenty two.

"Mom, Dad... Uh- you came. How are you?" I said and hugged them tightly.

I was taken aback. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents so much. But I was just shocked because they didn't tell me they'll come over. Plus, Seungmin is here. They don't know that I already have a boyfriend, again. They never knew about Seungmin.

"We're fine dear. How about you? Sorry if we didn't get to visit you unlike before. Your dad's not feeling well these days. But since we miss our beautiful daughter we decided to do a surprise visit." Mom said. My door is not fully opened yet so they don't see Seungmin inside.

"Oh, come in, come in. Good thing I just cleaned my house." I said and chuckled.

They were removing their shoes when I saw Seungmin walk to me.

"Dani? Who ca- oh." Seungmin was stood in shock as he saw my parents. Three of them mirroring shocked expressions. But Seungmin immediately bowed and greeted them.

"Good morning, Ma'am, Sir. I'm Seungmin. Dani's boyfriend." Seungmin said, and I can hear the nervousness in his voice yet he manage not to stutter. My parents were silent at first since they didn't expect to see other person inside but then Mom immediately hugged Seungmin, making his eyes grew wider, but eventually relaxed, smiling at me.

"Nice to meet you dear. How come Dani didn't tell us about you? What a handsome guy." Mom said making Seungmin emit an awkward chuckle.

"We just recently dated." I said so Mom nodded in response. Dad then smiled and patted Seungmin's shoulder.

"Nice to meet you son. I'm Niel, Dani's father." My dad said. Seungmin then bowed at him.

"Nice to finally meet you, sir." He said, I looked at Seungmin who looks like a bit nervous so I held his hand to make him relax. Mom and Dad will like him so he doesn't have to be nervous. I gave him an encouraging smile and he did it in return.

"You can just call us Mom, and Dad. No need for formalities, I hate that." Dad replied and laughed.

"Mom, Dad. Have a seat. I'll just prepare you some drinks." I said and they just nod in response then I dragged Seungmin to the kitchen.

"I can see, your nervous." I said and he just sighed in response.  I grabbed the juice inside the fridge and pour some on the glass while Seungmin speak.

"How can't I be? It's your parents Dani. I wasn't prepared to meet them." He whispered. I just shook my head and cupped his cheeks.

"You don't have to be. My parents were never strict to me in terms of my relationship. They were all okay as long as they know my partner won't hurt me. One reason I didn't tell my parents about my past is because they were already fuming in anger when they knew my ex was being an asshole to me. I don't want to add stress in their lives just because of that." I said.

"So, keep calm. And let's have a talk with my parents." I said and gave him a peck on his lips.

"There. Some encouragement for my dear boyfriend. Let's go?" I said and grinned and he just smiled at me and nodded. He insist on bringing the glass of juice inside as I brought some biscuits and fruits with me.

"So are you two workmates?" Mom asked before drinking her juice. Seungmin shook his head as a response.

"We're not workmates. Uhm. I do work on a different company as an executive supervisor." He said making my parent both gasped in shock.

"Oh I see, you got a nice job kid. I can see how hardworking you are. It's not easy working in a company. I once worked in a company before and all I can say is you need to be determined and optimistic in order to keep your job." Dad said while Seungmin nod in agreement.

"Thank you si- I mean Dad. I'll keep it in mind." Seungmin replied.

"My daughter came from a big heartbreak and it honestly affected her so much, dear. I wish she won't experience that with you. I just want her to be happy and I know you want that too." My mom said and smiled.

"Of course, I will take good care of Dani. I knew what she went through, and I won't let that happen to her again. Not with me." He said and patted my head lovingly.

Mom then clasped her hands in excitement before she speak.

"So I was curious, how did you two meet? Since you said you guys aren't workmates? Right?" She said. I tried to stifle my laugh as I look at Seungmin who's ears are turning red.

"We met through internet." I said, bravely. Why, be proud! Just don't go into details.

"Like? How? Internet can be crazy? Really kids nowadays are so brave." Dad commented making us laugh.

"It's worth it though, Dad. Look I end up with him." I said and chuckled.

"Yeah, you're a one lucky girl. So don't let Seungmin slip away from you." Mom said and pointed her finger at me. I just nodded in response.

"We'll meet you again, okay? We should get going." Mom said and hugged me and Seungmin, as well as Dad.

"Thank you for visiting, Mom, Dad. See you next time." Seungmin chirped before they finally left. I closed the door shut and I heard Seungmin sigh again in relief.

"That was kinda tough. I didn't expect my 'meet the parents' will be this early. Good thing they were just chill." Seungmin said making me giggle.

"See? They even let you call them Mom and Dad. I know they'll love you." I said and pinched his nose. He hugged me and rested his chin on top of my head.

"Don't worry, you'll meet Mom and Dad soon. And they were just like your parents. I know for sure they'll love you since you're the very first girl I'll bring to them." He said.

"I'm flattered." I said and chuckled.

"As you should." He remarked and laughed after.

I checked the time randomly and it says that it is already 5 in the afternoon.

"Seungmin?" I called his attention making him hum in response.

"Aren't you going home yet? You still have work tomorrow." I said and lift my head to look at him. He just pursed his lips and nodded.

"Yeah. How annoying." He said and chuckled.

"I think you should get going mister. We'll just see each other tomorrow." I said.

He then grabbed his things before I walk him to the door.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Seungmin said and ruffled my hair. I nod and smiled at him in return.

"Yes. Go home safely okay? Bye." I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He waved his hand at me while I did the same before he turn his back and get on his way home.
