Chapter 23: - PTSD.

"If you don't shut that mouth of yours, I am going to kill you here and bury your body nearby and leave the rest of my life in bliss." She said and began walking away.

Hearing that, Dave face became serious. "You sound like you've done that a lot." He said walking

towards her.

Immediately Dave said that, Damilola stopped in her tracks. Her face was ashen and pale. She began trembling. His words and the seriousness in his voice reminded her of the person she dreaded the most.

"You are nothing but a murderer, murderer, murderer," the voice kept echoing in her head.

"If you think of bringing me down, we'd go down together." The voice said. She started breathing heavily.

The room became too hot for her to breathe. It felt suffocating.

She didn't even notice when Dave walked up to her. Her eyes were showing various emotions that

he couldn't read.

"Are you alright? He asked, concerned.

Damilola began walking towards the door like she was soulless.

Dave placed his hands on her shoulder, "Alex, are you fine?"

"Get your hands of me," she said, trying to make her voice sound normal, but it was weak, as she

removed his hands from her shoulder and kept walking.

Seeing she didn't want him anywhere near her, he retreated.

Her head was filled with various thoughts, various memories. Suddenly her legs became numb, her head heavy, she started to feel dizzy. Before she could do anything, she collapsed.

Seeing that, Dave immediately ran to her unconscious body.

"Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex." He shouted.

"Alex, wake up", he said, tapping her face.

"Dami, Dami, Dami, Damilola, please talk to me." He said, panicking.

Seeing there was no response, he lifted her up in his arm, ran to his car and drove straight to the nearest hospital.

On getting to the hospital, he had the doctor check up on her.

After a while, the doctor came to talk to him.

The doctor led him to his office and began speaking. "Who is she to you?"

"A Friend. What is the matter with her?"

"It's PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). She seems to have experienced some traumatic events in the past that she can't let go of. Something must have triggered her memories, making her faint due to the impact."

"Triggered her memories?"

"Yeah,"

"When would she gain consciousness,"

"Probably tonight or tomorrow."

"Okay, thanks a lot, doctor." Dave said as he walked out.

He went straight to Damilola's room. She was sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed.

What could she have done or gone through in the past?

What on earth triggered those memories?

After staying with her for a while, he decided to leave. Damilola wouldn't like to see his face when she wakes up.
